Not all but most of them, Zuma was counting on the bad apples voting for the MK and it never happened. As much as that is encouraging, they are still politicians after all, but I will still take a normal politician over a Zuma or EFF politician.

Unfortunately there are not going to be any shortcuts for the ANC in KZN, the road to rebuilding the party there is going to be long and very uncomfortable, even for those who don't really believe in Zuma, the allure of easy money will still be there so I see a couple more jumping ship depending on how things go at MK, it's a test the ANC has never experienced before so it's not going to be easy.

In a very simplistic fashion, I want to be able to vote for a party that campaigns on Service Delivery issues in a LGE, whilst having some cognizance of the parties ideologies at a national/provincial level.

And that is exactly what I mean, if you manage your politics well, you should be able to see that national ideologies should have very little to do with maintaining roads, water and electricity at local government, and that goes for all parties, not just the ANC.

If the parties were able to manage their politics, we would not have the mess and all the wasted years we've had at local government since 2016.

Oh no question, all parties fail at this... we just get to pick on the ANC a bit because up until now they've been the majority in most places and let their ideologies trump service delivery.

Actually Zibi has written about it. I haven't read their policies yet but the fact that he's vocal about it indicates it's a written policy.

It's not the same as what EFF, PAC, etc are advocating though according to what I heard.

I've downloaded their manifesto which I'm planning to read up on tonight.

He's only vocal about it after the twitter spat imho. Basically what came out in the news24 debate was they support expropriation "within the law" which the DA says means "without compensation". Maybe their manifesto is like your insurance contract with very small T's & C's writing which allows them to change the content of the contract you signed without bothering you.

"Within the law" means they stay within provisions of the constitution. DA's interpretation is just plain political opportunism.


No, I'm not a member or their voter. Yet.

Actually they do get advertised, that's how people know there is a by election. The IEC will never have the budget to put an advert on National TV for every by election so it is up to the parties to run with it and make it work.
