That'll be under the RET banner.

I wouldn't be surprised if MK and EFF do a merger sometime in future to form a one big, RET, Black nationalist party...
With 2 bulls like COPE? EFF is a cult just like MK. You can’t have 2 cult leaders.

The rise leader/mp has made quite sane statements when interviewed at parliband during his speech. Don't think they are looking for posts but rather to work from Parliament and support/opposed as they wish.
And what about Gayton?

May have missed it but I doubt, any word on new Ethekwheni mayor? Scuttlebutt is that it wil be a IFP mayor.
I heard this from my WhatsApp group:
“Cyril Xaba will be the new mayor and he is good”

Touch wood it would be hard to find someone worse than the ampiano artist but time will tell.

Durban just needs competence and a heavy hand on corruption and armed opposition.

The RET ANC lot have literally just gone hold my fscking beer.

Haven't followed him to be honest but from some remarks seemed a bit of a klingon bit I don't have an opinion yet personally. They are mainly active in the wcp so not my backyard.
RISE and PA must **** off out of GNU. They are going to be trouble makers and are not even needed in the first place.

I don't have much faith in a AnC selection for mayor because of the status quo they have allowed for years.
I have zero faith in it either especially since the RET lot are largely in the pound seats in this province and are scrambling for their jobs so will do stupid shyte.

What makes you say that? Haven't seen any disruptive or rhetoric?
PA’s track record in Beaufort West, Jhb collapse of opposition coalition giving them Aljamaah mayor, ****ing up Knysna. Everyone who has tasted the PA difference regrets it which is why all those places PA lost votes.

RISE supports land expropriation without compensation and BEE. How does that fit in with DA and IFP idiology?

I know we are family now but there is no logical reason why it should be an IFP mayor, the ANC will need power there to rebuild for the 2026 elections, all the parties will be competing soon, so everyone will be consolidating where they still have power.

RISE spoke about support through merit and need determination by poverty, also mentorship programs vs others.

Nothing wrong with them being part of the "GNU", it's a memorandum of understanding between parties but each are still able to vote thier conscience, there isn't a gun to thier heads.

Put it this way, woukd you rather have a calm dissident of possible opinion in a group or the rabid mongerings of populist extremism? The progressive caucas is anything but.

Agreeing to disagree is a valid stance in people who work together. The absolute worst thing, and this is from boards and bodies I have worked on, is the expectation of 100% consensus in a agreement to be valid.

This I would agree with... But I would.hope the anc has come to some minor realization that what people want is service delivery and a government that functions. Populism has shown not to be the way.

They need to apply exactly what I said. Durban confidence is shot with regards to the ANC in leading anything in the city.

Not sure what you said besides the rumour you heard about the IFP mayor, which is a bad idea that doesn't make any sense for any political party. Point me to the post it's something else.
