COPE is done for. I think this is just the swan song/dramatic climax honestly. I doubt they'll make it into national parliament, nvm provincial legislatures into 2024. In 2026, they'll be completely gone.

2009 was the first election COPE contested, they got 7% (a good number for your first outing).
After that election, their support evaporated as fast as a puddle of water in the Karoo sun thanks to faction battles between Lekota and Shilowa...

If one of their own councillors and none of the opposition (IFP, EFF, ACDP, or DA) voted for the motion, then perhaps introspection is needed. But then again that's too much to ask from ASA.
