The DA should do this and put the ASA on the spot because there should really be consequences for the ASA doing the wrong thing.
I also think so, also to show them who's Boss, "here is our candidate, you will do the right thing and vote for him if you know what's good for you", they are just trying to be clever.

It's a coalition they will hopefully sit down and talk. Talks out of which an agreed candidate will be presented.
Most probably, no one will want to rock the boat too much, after all the ANC's R2m offer is still there, waiting for a broke councillor.

So the first problem is, is that in the agreement the DA can lay claims to the Speaker position. So if ASA wants their way, they'll have to negotiate and amend the agreement.

Otherwise, they will just have to accept whoever the DA puts there, since also in the agreement, it states that parties can't dictate to other parties who to appoint in their designated positions and so on (something which ASA wants to do). For example, the DA can't dictate to ASA who to place in their designated MMC positions and vice versa.

Well, the ASA could argue that it is time to review the agreement if it is still vulnerable like is currently happening.

They just need to honour the agreement and not be opportunistic.
