So you have 2 people claiming something.

1 who was directly involved, and the other who very likely wasn't and you don't generally want to believe the person who was directly involved?

I would argue the bias is 100% on your side.
I haven't taken sides at all, all I asked was how the brit knows it's the ASA who is lying. His answer was he trusts the DA more. That's bias. I generally don't believe any politicians with their stories after the fact, it's always damage control. If the IFP confirmed her statement that would obviously tip the scales.

All the main players in ASA are ex-DA, which is why they have huge grudges against the DA, which many anti-DA people are eager to lap up.
And those will stay grinding their teeth while the rest of the members jump ship, ASA is being openly dishonest and making a fool out of its members, I would quickly remove myself from that party before the ships sinks.

Maybe they're more interested in their education than politics?
Student politics are there because there are other factors that affects your education as a student, getting involved does not mean you don't value your education.

The DA used to have a branch at UCT in the 2010s.
Here's a DA article from 2017

Why is there no DA?
I don't know, maybe they fell from grace, but as I have posted and other members have alluded, they have been active in student politics at UCT.

And the 2017 also proves that they were very strong in UCT during Maimane's time, for the benefit of @The_Right_Honourable_Brit since he was convinced when that fact was mentioned.

When I was at UCT, DASO did win a few elections but I think it really depends on the enthusiasm of the student branch every year...student politics is quite volatile. One year you can sweep the board and the next, no-one can vote for you. It's not really that revealing of anything TBH.
