LOL - In all the complexes around us, including ours, we have so many Zimbabweans working that Dudula would not be really a popular move here, considering most of them are hard working and legal ones. Paving/Garderning/Building/Electrician/plumbing - you name it and they do it. Only their presence is lacking in pool construction & solar paneling.

In our complex WA group, whenever I ask for reference, I always get a zimbabwean reference and we have only SA citizens here (well - barring one who I suspect has British passport and of course myself as non-citizen)

Dudula chiefs claim they don't bother documented immigrants doing legal work. Things might be different on the ground. I'm acquaintances with 2 lads from Zim. They seem unmoved. Both are in the country legally (one is a professional).

Dunno, probably couldn't get a "suitable" coalition and so opted to stay in opposition although it seems it was everyone vs ANC at the meeting? So idk.

Emphatically no, says ActionSA’s national chairperson, Michael Beaumont. He told amaBhungane: “It is simplistic and malicious that Herman Mashaba’s long-standing outspokenness about illegal immigration, which long pre-dates the #PutSouthAfricansFirst movement, can be interpreted as evidence that either he or ActionSA were part of a coordinated effort or campaign.”

He added, “If you seek someone to blame for xenophobic violence, look no further than our own national government that has failed to manage our borders, failed to document people legitimately in our country and failed to protect South Africans and foreigners alike against criminality in our country – the confluence of these failures is responsible for the constant threat of xenophobic outbreaks in our country.”

Mashaba has made it clear that he is against xenophobia, but probably has a target on his back for being too outspoken over the illegals.

Going even further back, Piet Rampedi (an editor in the increasingly RET-aligned Independent Media stable) reported that Mario Khumalo’s South African First party was behind the #PutSouthAfricansFirst hashtag and that, although the party was registered in November 2016, the idea for the movement was first floated as far back as 2008 after the xenophobic attacks of that year.

They're believing Piet? The guy with the invisible 10 babies story? How would RET of all groups benefit from an illegal immigration narrative? Isn't "open borders, Africa is one" their meme along with EFF?

Ok, the media is getting a bit desperate now to bury discourse over the illegals and label it all as xenophobic as a way to discredit it all.
