It's also a good way to campaign for Mashaba. But I have a feeling the media blackmail campaign every time the issue of illegal immigrants is raised is not going to work this time, I don't understand but it looks like everyone is failing to read the mood around this issue, since the old and tired tactics from the media and politicians are still being used.

As I said, it's so SA politics really. These two parties who have so many similarities, instead of banding together and perhaps forming an electoral alliance, ****ing devour each other.

The opposition parties attack each other more than they attack the ANC...

At times, I did consider Mashaba to be a bit hostile on this issue but he has always advocated that stance against illegal immigrants, illegal being the keyword. I stand to be corrected if proven otherwise.

Yeah, at this rate it's just a matter of time before the coalition collapse, not much is happening in terms of service delivery because the parties are busy settling political scores, there is now a distinct difference to the government of the DA and Mashaba compared to that of the Phalatse, very soon the people are going to get fed up and anyone in that coalition would be at risk of losing support, even the EFF seems to be sleeping on the job.

I have been following developments in Soweto and the thing is soon going to come to a head, if I was government I would try very hard to avoid another riots, but it seems the government is still trying to pull wool over people's eyes, they were busy arresting illegal people in Chicken farm where the Dudula guy was killed.

Instead of taking concrete steps of addressing the immigration issue at its core, which is the borders and corruption at Home Affairs they are choosing to put on a show by going around arresting people, who they will probably release as they turn the second corner.

I honestly they are in denial on the seriousness of the situation.

With the non-calibre POS shyty DA supporters on this forum, I hope Mashaba never ever joins hands with DA.

Agree, gov is trying its hardest to not really address the issue. The typical manoeuvre of the gov/ANC...

Funny is that ASA is what the DA was supposed to be before Zille came out of retirement, I think just like the ANC the DA is also failing to read the room in their own way, what they have going right now is not sustainable.

When Zille took over and subsequently trough Maimane's term South Africans were fed up with the ANC and thinking DA could be the solution, now they are still fed up with the ANC but they no longer see DA as a solution and very soon they are going to get fed up with them as well, the constant alternative facts narrative the DA keeps on harping about where they govern is getting old.

Zille is perhaps the greatest living politician (with impeccable morals & contribution to anti-apartheid struggle) of our times (in SA) but I have no idea what she has been smoking for last 5 years. It makes me sad.
