Newsflash: Old news. So is the SANDF. I posted some videos from both Carte Blanche and Afriforum earlier.

Dudula is the bastard child of government failures. While illegal immigrants are a problem, it should have been handled by the authorities. If communities had a voice, the authorities would have done something about it. What we see is predictable and sad.

Once they are in the country, it becomes the problem of SAPS, same story, spot fines. Though not quite related, this should give some insight:

The odd thing is that if the DA were super sure they would hold the ward, why would they send in Zille and Steenhuisen to campaign there? While they weren't in any other wards that recently had by-elections?

I agree that they might end up in the top 3, I think they have quite the chance to take this ward from the DA.

Like go from 7.5% all the way to over 50%?

That's a huge jump, I don't think it would be possible, maybe they would gain 10% but no ways will the DA lose that ward.

Not over 50%, lol. I'm not ****ing expecting them to get a landslide victory with an 80%+ vote share or something.

They could still be first with like 30%. Keep in mind, wards work on "guy with the most votes wins", regardless of vote share. And as I've also mentioned before the winning DA councillor from LGE 2021 defected to ASA, so if the residents are happy with him, then they'll just vote ASA and defect to ASA themselves, otherwise they'll remain DA.

It won't gain traction in areas unaffected by crime, especially violent crime committed by undocumented foreign nationals. They also target foreign ownwd shops.

LOL - In all the complexes around us, including ours, we have so many Zimbabweans working that Dudula would not be really a popular move here, considering most of them are hard working and legal ones. Paving/Garderning/Building/Electrician/plumbing - you name it and they do it. Their presence is lacking only in pool construction & solar paneling etc.

In our complex WA group, whenever I ask for reference, I always get a zimbabwean reference and we have only SA citizens here (well - barring one who I suspect has British passport and of course myself as non-citizen)

The SANDF has no powers of arrest. Their powers of arrest are the same as your powers of citizen's arrest and crossing a border illegally is not a Schedule 1 offence, which are the only arrestable citizen's arrests offences.

The SANDF is mandated to defend the sovereignty of SA and the powers are rightly worried that a Zim soldier could be legally shot by an SA soldier for violating SA's sovereignty. Shooting the civilian would be illegal.
