General service delivery, for the first in years since I arrived in Joburg a traffic light on one of the busiest roads wasn't working for almost 3 weeks, I now have to memorize where the potholes are on my local routes, something I only worried about when I am in my village home.
General by law are also not being enforced, general decay and spaza shops are popping up everywhere. Nigerians are running amok, selling drugs in broad daylight. The metro is not as responsive as it was during the 2016 term.
Things were not perfect but there was a sense of all hands on deck because the leader inspired confidence, I am afraid out current Mayor is just not giving that confidence.

Asa is a big threat to the DA now and a lesser extent the EFF. EFF have also taken notice and so abolished some Pan Afrikanism from their policy. They will likely ditch Pan Afrikanism altogether if they decline in the next election.
ASA's situation is interesting. I expect about 2-6% in the next election but if they can stand the test of time without a big implosion, they will have a bigger voting pool than the DA and EFF.
I've been listening to some of the DA aligned podcasts like Big Daddy Liberty, Daily Friend etc and they are just praying for the implosion to happen.

Local elections happened last year November, the DA coalition has been in power for less than six months, now do you want to look me in the eye and tell me that in less that 6 months they were able to turn things around just like that? Please don't be silly.
The DA took over Ekurhuleni after the metro got 2 clean audits in succession, the metro was always on its way to good health, any decent person would acknowledge the work done by the predecessor when things starts falling into place, unless you were not even aware that the DA took over the metro just when the second consecutive clean audit was declared by the AG?
I know it's painful but giving credit where it's due has never hurt anyone.
Investigations are still ongoing and there could be more to come. Watch this space.
