blah blah blah. Nothing new and rather pathetic that the journo didn't PUSH for answers. I personally don't think MS SA is working hard enough to get it here. We have the PlayStation store here in SA, so I don't see any excuse for MS not bringing Live to SA.

As I said on myGaming:

If they cannot give us Xbox Live, why must we forge UK and US addresses to buy points through third parties. I can see no reason for this, because if there is all Xboxes are sold fraudulently in South Africa.

I am sure that Sony also does not have servers in South Africa, but I can use my RSA credit cards and address and purchase in Rands.

Also, why can I not purchase Xbox originals without having to go through proy servers etc.

Come on Microsoft, you are selling your stuff in South Africa. Although Live maybe a problem, there are no reasons for not allowing us to deal legally in purchadsing and downloading content.

I owned a Xbox 360 once, although the memory is quite vague , i remember that even back then (about 3 years ago) MS said that "They were working hard at bringing the the Xbox Live experience to South Africa".

Needless to say I got fed up with having a wind turbine come portable stove in my lounge so i sold the console and am very happy with my PS3.

I say Two, Then you have a console lifespan of up to 20 Years judging by PS2 standards.

As afterthough: I wonder if I/we can help by connecting the Xbox's to a PS3 via the 1Gig Ethernet or wireless LAN to PSN for a better than Xbox live experience for free. Nice project.

MS should not be allowed to sell XB consoles here if they arent prepared to offer Live. My gold subscription just expired and im not bothering to renew it either.

Agreed with Freshy : they're prepared to make profit off the console, games and accessoreis - but not interested in offering us a service? Pffft.

I think if I was faced with a choice of consoles now, I'd probably go with the PS3. When I bought my machine 15 months ago, the PS3 game choice was slightly limited. But now with more games and - more importantly - the DLC and online gaming, I'd be inclined into looking at the PS3
