The Samsung i900 OMNIA Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

MBB is everywhere, searched in Google for Samsung Omnia Tips and Tricks and here is MBB! :D

Ok instead of me browsing the pages here, any apps or mods that are a must get.
I am getting my omnia probably on the 20th of this month.

No need to be...just make sure you install the modem driver,active sync,reboot your pc and phone,make sure antivirus/firewall and any other apps which could interrupt the process aren't running on your pc and you should be fine.

Why don't you give it a try then? The ROM looks pretty promising.

Edit: You need to be on XXHG4 before you can upgrade to this ROM, so count me out.

Firstly the latest Garmin maps and Frimware available for South Africa can be found here.

I'm still a bit hesitant at the moment...flashing with an oficial ROM is one thing but a custom ROM is another story.Though it looks promising i think i'll wait a little while longer (Till i get bored LOL)

Yo dude... Samsungblog.co.za wants these info to download garmin maps or anything else..

Um.. that be a bit dodge to give all these info.. why do i want give it to them?!! nooo nooo nooo.. :mad:

OK a few questions.

Installing the skins program - SPB Mobile Shell.
It is only a program right and wont void the warranty at all and I should be able to uninstall the program at any stage?

Codecs:
Are there sites I can download and install codecs so I can watch mkv file formats with subtitles?

The Core Pocket Media Player looks like it will be able to play MKV files.

I'm just wandering...due to the low memory (128MB) of the omnia,wont an app like SPB slow your device to a crawl ?
 
Damn thing was in Silent mode - turned screen down and now the loudspeaker won't work.

All settings show that the volume is up.
I can hear calls when keeping the headset to my ear.

But no sound coming through the loudspeaker on calls, CorePlayer or Media Player.

Think I had this happen once before and got it sorted, but can't fscking figure it out now!

Any tips and help would be moersly appreciated ;)
