I was hoping to play a bit with geo-tagging today and couldn't get it to work.
I switched the GPS on, and the gray icon comes up, i waited 5 minutes and it was still
gray.
and every photo taken is showed coordinate 0.

I tried it last night and had the same thing. i will try it tomorrow again and see if I can get it to work. SPB software works well I am using a couple of their apps.

All that tells you is that the Omnia's GUI is rubbish

They should not be charging for that, it's not their artwork.

I doubt this will work on the Omnia. Under requirements it says "Screen: QVGA (240 x 320)" and the Omnia is a 400 x 240 screen.

I've tried installing the SPB Mobile Shell, but I get the same error every time: ... is not a valid Pocket PC application.

Any help with this, Bar1? TheStudent?

Okay, I've won with the SPB Mobile Shell installation - and learnt a lot about WinMo in the process!

I really have to recommend the SPB Shell to anybody who owns a WinMo device - including the Omnia. Even without all the extra themes, SPB Shell is a great addon for your device.

I have now set up my Omnia as follows:
TODAY SCREEN = SAMSUNG TODAY1 (and nothing else)
LEFT SOFTKEY = NOW SCREEN (Part of SPB, which shows your diary, time, notifications, etc.)
RIGHT SOFTKEY = DIALLING TAB (Part of SPB, which allows a dozen or so dialling shortcuts)
MAIN MENU KEY = SPB MENU

As a result, I now literally have everything I need at my fingertips. I really don't need a stylus anymore at all, since SPB is much more finger-friendly. Yes, it costs $30US, but I reckon it is worth every penny!

BTW, how can I take screen-shots of my device? Would like to post them here so you can see how cool SPB is.

Hope u can help, Have any of you updated the rom on your omnia? I did some searching but could only find a singapore version or some sort.

I just got my handset about 20 mins ago and wish to get all this software updates out of the way. Are there instructions on how to do this?

Okay, so after using my Omnia for a day or so, I've decided to sell it on again.

While I absolutely love the phone, I'm simply finding that my productivity is too low when I use it - entering text, for instance, takes longer than I had anticipated. You can see my ad here:

The phone itself is fantastic - but I really need much faster access to things like my calendar, etc. I also need to be able to input text MUCH faster, and not be bothered with a stylus... So I'll probably go for the Nokia E71 at this stage - but I need to sell my Omnia first!

How do you monitor your 3G/HSDPA data usage on the Omnia. I really do not want any nasty surprises when my VodaBill arrives.
Is it possible to set a cutoff limit?
