They hit the VC store in Somerset West last week IIRC, also based in a smallish shopping centre.

MITCHELLS PLAIN SECURITY GUARD KILLED

A security guard was shot dead while chasing armed robbers in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.

He was shot while chasing two men who had allegedly robbed a jewellery store at Polka Square, Town Centre, on Monday, Captain Frederick van Wyk said.

The two fled in a Toyota Corolla with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery. A case of murder and business robbery was opened.

Armed robbery at Kolonnade shopping centre

Two armed men robbed the Telkom Direct outlet at the Kolonnade shopping centre on Wednesday afternoon. They escaped with several cellphones and iPads.

Monique Janse van Rensburg, spokesperson for the Kolonnade shopping centre, said two men entered the store and showed two staff members their concealed pistols. The robbers subdued the employees, tied them up and robbed the outlet before casually leaving the shop.

“A Kolonnade security guard on patrol near the store and heard its internal alarm go off. He called the control room for back-up, but the robbers had already fled,” she said.

Daan Coleskey, a customer, said he entered Kolonnade minutes after the robbery occurred.

“The place was a mad house. Sirens were going off, doors were locked and security guards were everywhere to see,” he said.

Janse van Rensburg said no one was injured.

Mirna von Benecke, spokesperson for the Sinoville police, confirmed the robbery. She said the employees were locked in a room during the robbery.

The MTN shop in Menlyn Retail in Pretoria don't carry stock of phones/tabs because they have been hit too often.

3 iStores robbed in 9 days

JOHANNESBURG – A third iStore has been robbed in Gauteng in less than two weeks.

It’s understood a gang held up staff at the Apple store in Centurion Mall and made off with an unknown quantity of goods.
While fleeing the scene they opened fire but no one was wounded.

Nine days ago a shopper was shot and wounded when a gang of men stormed the iStore at Cresta Shopping Centre in Johannesburg. The robbers made off with bags full of iPhones and iPads.

Twenty-four hours later the iStore at the Glen Shopping Centre in southern JHB was also robbed.

A security guard was wounded in the leg when at least seven men robbed the shop, fleeing with electronics worth more than R1 million.

Last week, police said it was too early to confirm if the two heists were linked.

I saw that, but was that related to the same incident? Are you sure?
I thought that was the guys who were shot in the Cash in Transit heist?
