The Shopping Centre Armed Robbery Thread....

In another armed robbery on Friday morning, six men held up staff at a Nando's restaurant in Plattekloof Village.

According to Captain Marius du Toit of the Parow police, six men, of whom three were armed, entered the shop shortly after 09:00 and demanded all the cash in the register.

"There was not much, only the R1000 float, but they then also took R1900 from the eight workers, and seven of their cell phones," says Du Toit.

They then took off in a silver Toyota Carolla, taking the hard drive with the CCTV footage with them.

No arrests have been made.

Just take a look at the leaders. They are setting a prime example.

Also, I don't think the protection of law abiding citizens is of any concern of our government. They just want the taxes.

Interesting. Cops are not always there (in every country) to protect the citizens, but are there to enforce laws. That's their primary goal.

Stolen goods from malls heading to Nigeria

Johannesburg - Nigeria has emerged as the destination for many of the electronic devices stolen during the recent spat of mall robberies across the country, police said on Saturday.

“The service providers have confirmed that the majority of the items are activated in Nigeria,” Lt-Gen Solomon Makgale said.

“The recipients use courier services to send the items to Nigeria.”

Gauteng and the Western Cape have been hardest hit by a succession of armed robberies taking place at malls over the last few months.

In almost all the cases, the robbers' loot has consisted of electronic devices, especially cellphones.

Not surprising at all... - http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-cou...lls-heading-to-nigeria-1.1767078#.VEKWwCLQpQs

But, but, they said the stuff had been blacklisted and was useless....

Looks like the Nigerians have opened up a can of whip@ss on us. They have p@wned our service providers, customs and police. Hey at least our courier companies made a bit of cash on these guys. Easy pickings and what not.

Ridiculous now. Malls will now have to get 'real' security. Or maybe that's the whole point of this campaign. Mall security rackets by the eastern euro gangsters.

Canal Walk had security at the exits when I was there today. With those metal detector wands that don't seem to do anything.

Segment on carte Blanche now. Ethiopian syndicates that have graduated from cash in transit robberies. Most have inside information for most jobs. Police collusion upto management. On incident on camera where police vehicle pulls truck over. Other perpetrators arrive and police vehicle then escorts hijacked truck.

Eventually this society will stop functioning. We live in a parallel dreamworld. We don't care until it lands on our doorstep. Then it's to late.

Cowards
A cash-in-transit guard was killed during an armed robbery at Waterstone Village shopping centre in Somerset West earlier this morning.

According to Colonel Mary-Ann Williams, Somerset West Police station commander, the incident occurred at 08:49. Williams says the G4S guard had just collected two trunks of money from Pick n Pay and was leaving the store when he was shot in the entrance by one of two armed robbers - believed to be a man and a woman. The guard was shot in the face and was declared dead on the scene.

The robbers allegedly fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of amoney and in a silver Toyota Corolla with a CA registration.

More details to follow in this week's DistrictMail.
