In another armed robbery on Friday morning, six men held up staff at a Nando's restaurant in Plattekloof Village.
According to Captain Marius du Toit of the Parow police, six men, of whom three were armed, entered the shop shortly after 09:00 and demanded all the cash in the register.
"There was not much, only the R1000 float, but they then also took R1900 from the eight workers, and seven of their cell phones," says Du Toit.
They then took off in a silver Toyota Carolla, taking the hard drive with the CCTV footage with them.
No arrests have been made.

Just take a look at the leaders. They are setting a prime example. Why didn't they stay and make kark in their own countries? How did this country end up as a criminals paradise?
Also, I don't think the protection of law abiding citizens is of any concern of our government. They just want the taxes.
Johannesburg - Nigeria has emerged as the destination for many of the electronic devices stolen during the recent spat of mall robberies across the country, police said on Saturday.
“The service providers have confirmed that the majority of the items are activated in Nigeria,” Lt-Gen Solomon Makgale said.
“The recipients use courier services to send the items to Nigeria.”
Gauteng and the Western Cape have been hardest hit by a succession of armed robberies taking place at malls over the last few months.
In almost all the cases, the robbers' loot has consisted of electronic devices, especially cellphones.
But, but, they said the stuff had been blacklisted and was useless....
Canal Walk had security at the exits when I was there today. With those metal detector wands that don't seem to do anything.Ridiculous now. Malls will now have to get 'real' security. Or maybe that's the whole point of this campaign. Mall security rackets by the eastern euro gangsters.
