The Shopping Centre Armed Robbery Thread....

In the face? And they usually heavily armed. Was he alone? If so, why? And how did these Fuddruckers know?

Looks like the Nigerians have opened up a can of whip@ss on us. They have p@wned our service providers, customs and police. Hey at least our courier companies made a bit of cash on these guys. Easy pickings and what not.

That’s a nice mall you have, it would be a shame if anything were to happen to it...

These SBV guys are armed with a pistol and a semi automatic rifle (sometimes only one of the two) but their shooting is extremely poor!! The new recruits sometimes train at Kraaifontein shooting range and I spoke to the trainer there. They go to the range at most 3 times a year to practise.

The one guard once left his rifle against the washing basin in Somerset Mall toilets while he was in the toilet...

These security guys are not an assest for SBV but an expense as the bulk of them hardly receive any further training other than their initial recruitment training.

Did any of you guys watch the documentary where the robbed the mall in Kenya where they bomb the whole mall. The killed old people, pregnant women and children.

I was shocked when I watched it, it looked unreal and like a movie they were making. I still cannot believe how people ran for their lives, running like ants hiding in fridges, store rooms, display units, etc.

Faking unreal I tell you

Wasn't that a terrorist attack?

The wear vests don't they?

when u hear about this u assume its random. I stand to be corrected but to shoot someone when you not close (assuming here) takes some competence with a firearm I would think. so that would require training or can anyone shoot someone in the head from 2 or 3 meters? so police/military?

Anyboday catch Carte Blanche lastnight, I guess every ethiopian is ****ting bricks today....

Exactly my point, very misleading to the layman but if its true, 40k - 100k payoffs to help the guys....wow, for cellphones and jeans...crazy
fixed.

Ja, I dunno how good this does for our little xenophobia problem.

The media outlets are putting more attention towards the larger malls, two smaller shopping centres in Somerset West had also been hit in the last two months.

I like waterstone since its quiet. but that's working against it at the moment.

They like targeting G4S in our region, less than 6 months ago they opened up on a case-in-transit van in the Somerset West CBD. The Vodacom store was robbed the other day, was only mentioned in the District Mail. The centre where Checkers is was also hit in a armed assault, also a possible G4S heist. Plus we have very active syndicates operating here, strange how this increased when they appointed us a new police General who was suppose to shake things right...

damn. that area is deceptive then. but there's no increase in police patrols that I've noticed. im not form the area but my son goes to school there so I've been there quiet a bit in the last 5 years. seems idyllic in places so its hard to reconcile what you are saying with how the feeling is there.
