The Shopping Centre Armed Robbery Thread....

wtf is wrong these these d00se. they walk in to bomb the atm in full view of customers. they should have done it in another area. police response might have been slower. talk about brazen. just glad they didn't shoot customers. that would be the next step.

I wonder why they went back.

Did they stash loot somewhere or with someone and went back to collect? Did they go back to pay off or fetch someone they had on the inside? Or they are really fu$k!ng stupid.

Anyway I'm glad they have some suspects, I hope the cops beat the information out the -cough- I mean interrogate the scum.

Or to pick up one of their accomplices who was hiding in the mall and could not get out when they escaped the first time around.

Armed robbery at Pizza outlet in Glenvista

Police have launched a manhunt after an armed robbery at a pizza outlet in Glenvista Shopping Centre, Johannesburg.

Six men parked their silver BMWs at the entrance to the shopping centre and walked over to Pizza Perfect, where they held up the manager on Sunday at about 8.30pm, Comaro Chronicle reported. Mondeor police communication officer Constable Elizabeth Mnguni said no shots were fired, but the manager sustained injuries after he was hit over the head and in the mouth with a firearm. Paramedics were called to the scene.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, Mnguni said. No arrests have been made.

The centre is about 800m up the road from me. This is the second time Pizza Perfect has been robbed this year as they were hit on 31 Jan as well. The Checkers at the centre was also robbed in December and January as well. We do not go to that centre anymore after 6/7pm.

I see the centre management has now decided to have the car guards removed due to the escalation in crime and vehicle thefts in the past 12 months.

Robber dressed as chef hits Cape mall

Cape Town - A gunman dressed in a chef’s uniform held up staff at American Swiss in Kenilworth Centre over the weekend, making it the latest mall shop to be hit in recent months.

Police spokesman captain FC Van Wyk confirmed that the man entered the store at about 6.15pm and held up staff at gunpoint. He said a “large amount of jewellery worth an undisclosed amount” was taken by the suspect. No shots were fired and there were no injuries. He added that no arrests had been made.

Terry Pollock, centre manager for Kenilworth Centre said: “We do want to assure shoppers that their safety and security is and has always been our top priority.”

Apparently Cape Gate was just hit near the Game entrance. My GF's mother was just there when it went down.

Was driving on the N1 at that time when 2 paramedic cars flew past me towards Cape Gate, didn't see police though.

KZN shopping malls hit by robbers

Durban - Two Durban shopping malls – uMhlanga’s Gateway and Westville’s Pavilion – were targeted by gunmen in robberies this week.

At Gateway, a restaurant and a shoe store were held up within 24 hours.

The robbers first held up a popular restaurant on Monday night before returning the next morning to hold up a shoe store.

On Monday, after the restaurant closed at 10pm, two men walked in, pulled out a firearm and demanded the staff hand over cash, said police spokesman, Colonel Jay Naicker. They escaped with the money.

On Tuesday at 7.10am, a store manager was confronted by a man who threatened her with a knife, Naicker said.

The Mall of Memphis and the commercial area that developed around it prospered throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. However, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, several deadly shootings and a rash of robberies occurred on or near the mall's parking lots.
These events led to the Mall of Memphis developing a reputation for being unsafe and being nicknamed the "Mall of Murder".
A study done by Rhodes College in 2006 shows the media's impact of giving the mall this reputation and also studying how the mall's nickname may have resulted in its death.[1]

In the 1990s, white flight took place in the residential neighborhoods closest to the Mall of Memphis.....
