The Shroom Thread

Hi all
Does anyone have experience growing their own shrooms, From dried ones ?

I bought something very potent and wanted to preserve it. Took a small dried piece and cut it in four pieces, I then rinsed it in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution and afterwards put it onto agar plates. Got some contamination on one plate and put one agar wedge to grain today.

Go look at sporespot as they have a 2+1 special at the moment.

Hi guys, I have some small cuttings from a recently acquired Salvia Divinorum if anyone is up to trade :). Looking for other psychoactives.

I actually soaked a piece of Gill and tissue, in a bit of water. Then did a dog food and agar tek. Then placed the pieces on the agar
But I’m not too sure about the results I’ll be achieving
It’s been sitting for about 3 days, and I started seeing a very slow growth of mycelium. I’m pretty sure it is. Clear white there is bit of contamination though.

this my first time growing so I don’t know what to expect, especially using dried mushrooms

I don't think you can use dried shrooms to grow more shrooms. Good luck with that - would be surprised if that works.

I've just started a new grow myself, using spores bought from the Internet.

@woolmer TIL Salvia Divinorum

Tell me more.
@The_Mowgs Almost got it right.

It's the most potent natural hallucinogen known. Indeed legal in South Africa. The active, Salvinorin A, can actually be lighted to vaporization with just a bic lighter. It is not really active orally (Tea), but rather sublingually, for which the leaves need to be chewed on for several minutes. Smoking, the trip is very rapid and intense but lasts only 10-20 min. Sublingual will be more mellow and healing while lasting anywhere between 40-90 min and also requires a bit of a larger dose.

It is often compared to DMT in the sense that the visuals can be very strong and you can experience a sort of breakthrough. Structurally, though, the molecule is unique to most classic psychedelics and so it also works on completely different receptors.

The plant naturally occurs only in the cloud forests of the Sierra Mazateca in Mexico and was used by the Mazatec for divine and spiritual purposes

Watching Youtube videos of some plonkers smoking Salvia was enough to put me off.
Most people who've tried say never ever again, and there just doesn't seem to be much point to smoking it in general.

This surely requires an extract of a certain strength. Smoking dried leaves won't yield this kind of experience, and even 5x, 10x extracts seldom get near that kind of experience. What did you smoke and how?

And salvia isn't just visuals, for many people it's also accompanied by a strong spacial hallucination and for me this far outweighed any visual experience. It felt as though the space occupied by my body was perpetually folding outward. Every smoked salvia experience I've had was weird like this and there was nothing about the experience that felt beneficial or useful or wholesome or whatever that warranted repeating it more than a handful of times. Once I realized that I was just finding spacial weirdness in smoking it I stopped smoking it.

For me salvia is nice when blending some fresh leaves into a smoothie and going for a walk in the woods. Then a mild connectedness with the natural world emerges and I find myself getting lost in thought and walk.

I am of the opinion that the stigma surrounding Salvia was due to the legality and easy accessibility of Extracts from grow shops in the USA and thus the irresponsible dosage by those not informed and not willing to do their research. A standard dose of smoked plain dried leaves is around 400 mg. This would mean a dose of 10x would be 40 mg, 20x would be 20mg. This means it is absolutely imperative to weigh out extracts otherwise you may unintentionally consume too much. Not to mention with just a gram scale.. a proper milligram scale would also be necessary. As with all psychedelics Salvia must be treated with respect or it will not treat the user with respect.

Yes, very true that an extract would probably be necessary for a strong breakthrough.

I have only smoked low doses of plain leaves through a bong and must agree that the spatial effect was stronger than the visual. Once my plants grow to a good size I will start to quid the leaves which is said to be more beneficial and less hectic than smoking :).

Where in SA are you?

Sweet, copped me some peroxide but I thought it kills mycelium ? I wanna to try it because I too bought something super potent and want to keep the strain.

Try the 3% solution you have nothing to lose. You only need a tiny piece so with a small piece you can populate many dishes and then it becomes a numbers game, eventually something will take and then you clone on from there. The wider range of genetics the better.

funnily enough I am very liberal with the use of natural hallucinogens , but friends (who are even more liberal) have warned me about Salvia and GHB. They reckon DMT , ayavuska all that jazz is cool.

There's nothing hectic about it, I just think most of us aren't used to having spacial hallucinations as much as visual. Kinda comes on quickly too so there's not a lot of chance to ease into it.
