ok cracking the map makes sense. where do I find my device I.D in the tomtom app?
 
installing that file errors .. says my device isnt compatible .. you guys install anything else that my x1 might need to install it ?
 
Where to get x1 in cape town

Apologies to be off thread - could those of you who managed to get one of these on MTN SP in Cape Town let us know which shops have stock?

i got mine from MTN kenilworth at begining of dec the last one and they said they were gonna get more... so think they should have received more stock by now.

Got mine from Blue Route about a week ago .. they said that MTN Cavendish had 15 in stock .. try there

pretty much exactly what I said .. I know .. It stumped me aswell .. but running the file with the file explorer first pops up the install location .. which I select as device .. then I get the circle "hourglass" which runs for about 5 seconds .. then a popup arrives which says .. "TomTom - Your device is not compatible with this version of TomTom NAVIGATOR!" (verbatim)

I'll take a look around and see .. but I was hoping someone was gonna say that I needed a specific app/ update installed before installing the cab .

will post back anything I uncover

downloaded the files from the link .. extracted the cabs from the zip .. copied the "unsigned" file to my storage card root folder ...

disconnected my phone .. opened file browser .. clicked on the cab .. and the rest follows as it unravelled in the previous post
 
Ok so you extracted 4 cabs in total? Tell me exactly what happened when you copied the cab to the memory card and then you navigated to the card and clicked on the can, it should then have started the installation process of the actual Tomtom program.
What happened when you clicked on the cab?
 
Jetlee, if that cab says it is incompatible, try one of the other cabs, there are a total of 4 cabs and maybe one of the other ones will work. I tried 2 before my one worked. Each cab is for a different type of phone.

will do .. just wierd .. the same phone should require the same version .. could you confirm your rom versions are the same as mine
