The Starfield thread

They will most likely fix it if it is a common issue.
And looking at the commonality of new engines; you can see a trend of "less" gpu and "more" cpu otherwise 50/50. Not to forget the fact that more than one dev tries to skip this by relying on upscaling tech.

However, let's leave up to the birds and all tasks ran by the engine is consumed by the gpu only.

Same with my PC. It runs perfectly fine with the dlss mod. The latest update to the framegen mod works well with no crashes so far. I'm really enjoying the game, focusing more on faction quests for now.

There are several which one are you using?

This one here.

Config:

Dlss mode MaxQuality.
Dlss preset D
NIS Sharpening off.
Dynamic Resolution off.
Relfex: LowLatetencywithboost.

Game settings maxed out. Motion blur off, Resolution scale 75% at Resolution: 2560x1600.

I am running a smooth UI 120fps mod as well.

I am using the same but did not modify anything with the settings for it. Worked well right away. 85% Resolution scaling. Maybe look at it more in detail this evening.

APU is the future.

All I know is my 4th Gen I5 was dying, 100% load trying to run the game at less than 20 fps while my 1060 was parking on Idle thinking I'm using Excell.

I noticed some ghosting and flickering with the standard config so I prefer preset D for more stable image quality. Overall it works very well.

I am seeing the same, CPU at 100% most of the time and GPU idling along mostly. PC is entry level but I am getting more than 40fps. Ok at 1080p.

Ryzen 1600AF
RTX 2060

I think Apple is on their way there with their M1 chips.

But in terms of gaming support...... eish
They’re working on it, last night they announced that the console version of the next Assassin’s Creed will be released on iPhone.

I gave up and the minister of finance declined the upgrade request so back to Xbox SX.

At least I am getting a hand on aiming, not great but at least some of my bullets are starting to hit the target vs the wall.

So I just discovered that Starfield is only using 2% of my GPU?
Is that even possible?

Now you will say, CPU bottleneck.
Nope, 50%

The feck is going on? No wonder the performance is terrible
Or is task manager borked?
I checked it while playing - Task manager always on top
If you have multiple monitors connected, try with only 1 monitor.
