The Starfield thread

If you're using the Razorleaf ship, I wouldn't advise storing anything in the weapon racks. My epic and legendary stuff just vanished (not in cargo hold either). Thankfully discovered quickly and reloaded a save. A google search confirmed others have had the same issue.

I've run into a bit of a bug where I did a mission and got a new ship as reward but I don't have high enough skill to pilot it yet. It was at my landing location but I can't actually sit down in the seat as it refuses due to my low pilot skill.

Funny enough I can just fast travel and I'll get put into the pilot seat but it bugs out when trying to stand up, then I have to restart from a save and just exit the ship instead.

Skill issue :p

Increasing your piloting piloting skill is really easy, just go hunt ships, or hit the simulator.

Ye I know, I've just been prioritising other skills as I'm less interested in being on the ship and rather be on the ground so I'm levelling up combat skills and such.

Just do enough to unlock 2 skills in piloting. Think you only have to kill 15 ships. I haven't unlocked the class B and C skills but can still pilot the star eagle. Is that the ship you're trying to use?

You can store stuff on a ship? Wow thats cool :D /s

I love the Razorleaf cause the Astrometric table is right by the entrance, so I do planet hopping without that whole land and takeoff screens.

Thanks for the heads up, but when I get to that part of the game (Halling cargo) I will probably run with B or C class anyway.

I'm still not entirely sure about the flying/planet hopping side of things but also using that table and managing to get where I need to! I think I need to check out building an outpost cause I am getting low on storage which is why I was trying to use the buggy weapon racks. I'm not sure if I can just sell the legendary stuff I'm not using or if I'll regret that decision later on.

You have an unlimited storage box in The Lodge. So just store all your fancy goodies there :)
 
So I now have a status on my character which never goes away and my suit never finishes it's protection regen.

E.g. running around in new Atlantis I get frozen rain / lung damage or I see the environmental alarm ticks swapping to suit protection regen and back.

I did take medication, return to original planet where it started, slept etc

May try the console command to remove all spells.

Finally at one stage ingame when I loaded I had no saves. Which return once I completely restarted the game. Lol.

thanks! yeah I've used that a bit but liked the idea of having the gear with me on my ship so I could swap them out more easily if I wanted to.

It's there. Check ship storage.

After having spent 30 to 40 minutes to properly setup my armory and returning to ship after a mission it was gone but all there in the ship's cargo. The daftness.

I really wonder who did the reasonable thought exercises about systems implemented, qa, finalizing and testing.

I think my ship cargo was full at the time so that might be why they disappeared! But yes, also spent a bit of time arranging it all and annoyed that I wasted the time. I really need more storage containers, I want a container per type e.g. weapons, suits, helmets, resources, food etc.
 
Loot disappearing from ships? Meh. That's nothing. I had two ships disappear on me. Urgh.

Had six ships. All registered. Then when loaded up next day only four. One of the missing ones I put a lot of effort in changing it and repainting it. Not sure if a bug or whether I did something wrong somehow?

I would just add more cargo space if I were you. It's an easy, cheap mod that makes all the difference.

There's a side mission from the main quest line that gets you either a class B or C ship depending on your choices.

And class C I think you need to shoot down about 50 ships total . You can do it in the simulator but that's just too much of a borefest.

Pick C because it is free ;)

Add all bells and whistles including kitchen zinc :)
