The Starfield thread

For some reason I find the robots (Vasco, Kaiser) more interesting than the humans and prefer to take them as a companion. Vasco actually has some funny moments

Vasco has a job that I have yet to see any other NPC do, he protects the ship and helps fight if you are close enough to landing site.

Andreja is best for stealth, esp since mine is wearing Cammo.
Sarah loooves tossing grenades so good for gun ho missions, esp if she is armed with gattiling.

Adoring Fan remains my favourite.
Good in a fight and his constant praise is annoying but somehow more entertaining still than the constant nagging and judgement from the other NPC's.

There was an Ecliptic ship which landed on a planet I was on. I went over to investigate and they all started shooting, so I killed them all, boarded the ship and they shot me too, so I killed them all.

Sarah absolutely lost her **** and now will not talk to me at all. She tells me to shut up and go away and won't be my travel buddy so I have to use Vasco.

All for defending myself. It's pretty cool.

I only have Vasco, Sarah and Andromeda right now. I see there are about 28 (named) companions.

Don't think the Adoring Fan will appear in my game.

You have to pick adoring fan as a perk when creating your character...

It's cool though that Craig Sechler, my favourite Bethesda VA, returned to voice the Adoring Fan. His only character in Starfield I think which is sad because that means I won't hear him in my playthrough.

Read somewhere he's retired now but I hope we'll still hear him in ES6 when the game is finally released in about 20yrs or so :p

So I got far enough into the story where you have to choose between going to the Eye and defending the lodge. If you defend the lodge, your closest companion dies - Sarah in my case since I'm married to her.

If you go to the Eye then she lives and your second closest companion dies.

So I defended the lodge, Sarah dies and now I can mack on Andreja...

Vladimir, with his Russian name and Slavic accent and everything, doesn't look anything like I thought he would after first hearing his voice over the radio. Just saying...

Lucky for me I was stuck with Sam quest just before I started this, so was an easy pick.

Bonus points, his child stopped yapping while I dogfight in space, man she was annoying and I was glad to see her go.

I chose the option to defend the lodge, so of course Sarah dies. However, I have an activity to 'Speak to Sarah' that hasn't fallen away. I go to this sopt on the eye and it's an empty waypoint. Glad she's gone though. She was a little too uppity when I misidentified a ship and attacked the wrong guys

Lol my dad in the game won a spaceship in a poker game but since he can't fly the thing he gave it to me instead.

Still have to figure out how to modify or build my own ships btw. A bit confusing right now so haven't done any of that yet. Also haven't started building a base yet. Hated that stuff in Fallout 4 and will probably hate it in Starfield as well.

I've played through twice without really doing much outpost stuff.

Probably spent 27% of my game time modding ships though :D

When you get far enough into the Crimson Fleet story, you have to fit stuff onto your ship. I only learnt then how to properly mod ships...

I've added an extra gun to one of my ships, that's about it so far.

All my ships I found so far are hideous, so really want to delete everything and build one from scratch. If only I wasn't so lazy...

It's quite fun once you get into it and get used to it. It also makes a big difference to ship combat when it's nice upgraded. I think I averaged about 8000 - 10000 cargo on my ships. That negates all of the encumbrance issues,

Yeah will hopefully learn to build/mod ships soon. Want to fly around and play the game in my own designs so don't want to leave it till it's too late.
