340oea versus 3.71 m33-2

Hi

I need help..my son's psp has fw 3.40 oe-a on at the moment and it worked quite fine untill I tried to put "star wars battlefront renegade squadron" on it and nothing happed...

I download quite a few games of the net and is starting to see a pattern were they are just tested on fw 3.71 m33-2.

What is the best of the two? How would I go about removing 3.40 oe-a to install 3.71 m33-2? Will my son's game saves on the memory stick still work on the new fw???
Is there more games working on 3.71 m33-2 or is there more games working on 3.40 oe-a?

I would realy appreciate any help in this regard....

ok what you do is get alll the files from www.psp-hacks.com .get 352m33-4 files.all of them,they are about 20megs,then just follw the readme,Its very straight forward.Do not install the latest custom firmware until you rally need it

If you have a game that requires 371 or 372 then you will have to install the latest custom firmware but for now just get the m33352-4(update)

There isn't anything wrong with 3.71 M33-2, I've been running it for a while now, and all my games work the same as they have done. The only thing to consider with 3.71 M33-2 that the 1.50 kernel is no longer natively supported but is now and extra addon to the 3.71 custom firmware. So it is an extra step to get installed.

If you do not do the 1.50 addon for the 3.71 custom firmware then just about all of the homebrew out there won't run on the PSP. This should change in the future though when the homebrew coders codes their apps for the new custom firmware leaving 1.50 out of the equation.

I must add that as dablakmark said, if you have games that require the latest firmware then install 3.71 M33-2. Else stay on 3.40 OE for now. But from what I see in your post, you will need the latest custom firmware.

Hi guys. Its been a while. I upgraded my PSP from 3.03 OE-C to 3.71 M33-4. It works great so far barring one annoying thing. My Browser doesnt work. When I select the Browser, I get a Blue Screen (Has MS got anything to do with M33 ) which says the following in about 6 languages: 'Setting information is corrupted. Press the O button to repair and restore default settings.' No matter what I press, it doesnt do anything. I have to pull the battery out to reboot. Anyone else had this issue?
