The Super PSP Thread

Ok, what you'll have to do is boot into Recovery, then go advanced, and then format your Flash1 and restore the default settings. That should do the trick.

yeah go ahead and delete your psp registry files..believe the devil(nick)..lol
just kidding this is good advice.....but do you know how to do the usb thing...lol

lol, yes it's always a good idea to backup your flash folders just incase something goes wobbly. So from recover you will have to enable the Flash1 as USB and back it up.

I have checked on the innernet, and this solved the probs of the ppls who had em... honest. :P

I DIDN'T backup before flashing flash1 which in was pretty careless of me, but I didnt know any better till now. Fortunately, all went off with no problem, and its working like it should now. Thanks alot.

I have been doing some cool stuff with my game images which I dont think has been discussed here at all. I have been making images from my UMD's, then extracting them and going through the files removing un-needed stuff like foreign vids and sound files. I dont listen to in game music at all, so I remove that as well. I managed to greatly reduce some of my images. I got Ridge Racer 2 down to 355mb and SOCOM down to 401mb. Im still messing around with some others, but its cool to be able to have 2 or 3 awesome games on a 1gb stick.

Most awesome hey. Yeah for those not lucky enough to have large memory sticks that is a good idea. However not every one has the savvy to do such things, and will most likely end up removing a needed file. Have you tried compressing them to cso rather than using the iso? In games without a lot of FMV this does reduce the size of it quite dramatically. I have seen a 1GB game shrink to 400 odd MBs. It was quite impressive.

have you tried irshell the latest version.it is cool.check it out and try it out.Look at the readme pdf of irshell then you will see all the magic you can do..

Anyone know where I can find more info on shrinking games? I have searched for days now, and cant seem to find a place that has alot of info, lots of places with a little, but I am looking for something comprehensive.

been a bit dead here,Well i have a few old updates.Manhunt fo psp,you can activate all the violence with a patch....check psp-hacks.com for downloads

Thanks for the info guys, but I mis-phrased my question. My bad, sorry. What I ment to ask was anyone know where I can look for info on editing UMD images to make them smaller, like which files i can remove for certain games. I have had some luck with some games, but cand find any info on others. What I was hoping for is a list of PSP games, with instructions or rip kits for each saying exactly what I can remove without affecting the structure of the image, thus rendering it useless.

The other thing I could do I suppose if this is not available, is to get hold of a UMD emulator for Windows (Is there such a thing) so that i can test my images after editing them. Some of the games are rather large, so to copy them to my psp each time I remove files for testing is rather time consuming.

There unfortunately isn't a proper emulator for PSP on PC. However, you are able to run the games off of your PC via the USB cable. This will save you from having to copy back and forth.

If I'm not mistaken, the latest IRShell has this functionality with the plugins that come with it. So go grab a copy of it from www.psp-hacks.com

As for your first question, I know of no such resource available at the moment. That would take a very long time to implement. I would suggest you do a search for file types or what not that you will be able to remove without breaking the game.
