OK i have fixed it, but its irritating. To play a backup I have to have a UMD in the drive?? I see someone said you can change the firmware to say noumd... how do I do this?
 
Yup you can. Shut down your PSP and then start it back up keeping the right shoulder button down. It'll boot into the configuration. Then change the No UMD option to Enabled. It doesn't always work I hear, but give it a go.

Yep, whether it works or not is pretty much game dependant.
 
well it worked for me, I had to do alot of googling to find that damn option :( anyway, I got that working and I got a PSXPSP game working :)
 
Guys ive just downgraded to fm1.50, and ready to upgrade.

Now, it would seem that new firmware comes out every 2 seconds.

Can you guys suggest what i should upgrade to now...

I love 3.03 OE-C and I would recommend that you upgrade to that. You can just use the 3.03 OE-C Easyup. You just copy the stuffs to PSP and run the upgrade, and voila.

Don't however ever ever ever upgrade to an official Sony Firmware again.

Slick, u did mention the 'easyup' thingee for 3.03 oe-c, but f if i could find anything about that. lol.

What 1.5 eboot & what 303 eboot? Where are they originating from?

The are 4 .EPB files in 3.03 OE-C. If i'm supposed to use any of these i'm not sure which 2.

The eboot files are all labelled eboot.pbp by default, regardless of which version firmware. I think he means that you should label them differently so that you'd know which is which?

The problem is i dont know which is for which

Four folders that have the EPB files are:

oeupdmaker%
oeupdmaker
303oeflasher%
303oeflasher

Now i assume that the 303 folder has the 303eboot, but is it the folder with or without the % sign?

Ditto with the oeupdmaker folder. I assume that this one has the 1.5eboot, but is it the one with or without the % sign?

.....actaully, upon further thinking (lol), perhaps its just the oeupmaker files that i need to rename, but which one is which?

For those that still need to downgrade from Original 3.03, this is what you do, this is the very easy way.

Step one:
Go here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1042
Download this (14.12MB): http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=1042

Step two:
Read the text file that comes with the download.

After all that :) you'll have a 1.50 Firmware. You still need the unpatched GTA LCS.

I can't stress enough how important it is to read the text file that comes with these downloads!

Well, I d/l easyup. lol

Again, the read me files dont tell you exactly what to do.

As in the case when i downgraded from 2.71 to 1.50. The text file that came with this particular was wrong, or rather it was innacurate as it didnt tell me everything.

Same goes with Easyup -

The text file tells me to do this

"For 1.50 users:

Go to your PSP'S GAME tab Memory Stick.
Run the 3.03 OE-C Firmware Install."

.......and thats what i've done.

Now what?

It extracted 2 folders "303oeflasher" & "303oeflasher%"

lol.

These people that create these programs tell you to read instructions properly, but in my experience -and the instructions are not written properly to start with.
 
And then you need to goto your game folder thingee on your psp and run the 303 update......
 
Has anyone found a chess game for psp?

I got '3d chess', but i'm f if know how to get this thing going.

Tried mario bros but just get 'game cant be started' or something like that.

Perhaps i should register at a psp forum and post my noobz questions there .lol


I'm beginning to think why am i wasting my time doing all this kuk with my psp.

If you're having trouble then stay with 1.50 - it's perfectly fine and you don't have to upgrade to 3.03OE. It'll run most homebrew apps anyway. I'm not changing mine from 1.50 - too much effort. Just download the Devhook ultimate pack, a few ISOs, and you're good to go.
 
The easyup comes with an exe which you run with your PSP plugged in and in USB mode. It will place the files in the places where it should be. Before you run it, format your memory stick in the PSP, then run the exe that came with the easyup.

After it is done, take your PSP out of USB mode, plug in the charger, and run Update.xyz. It will then update you to 3.03 OE-C. After you are done, format your memory stick again in the PSP, and you will have all the folders which you need.

PS. If you don't like 3.03 OE-C (which I very much doubt) you can always downgrade back down to 1.50.

F these PSP's.

Nothing is going right. I cant even f download stuff for psp.

5 files i've downloaded from psp-hacks.com and i cant even unzip them (LOL, F). games and ir shells are stuffed. How f up is that. It says they corrupt........... F.
