The Sushi lovers thread

Going to Z-two in Douglasdale tonight, their sushi is good and Mondays it's 50% off.

Big Mouth and Willoughby best by far.
The most sushi I’ve ever eaten was at a restaurant in waterfall Midrand, easily ate about 2-3kg, was really good.

@FiestaST Was your stomach in tact the next day ? I bought sushi from checkers before, twice, both times sick. I don't think their staff are trained in the correct hygiene as are the (mostly) Chinese places.

Stomach was A1. I’ve had “budget” PnP Sushi a number of times now & no regrets on my part. Would happily partake again if I have a sushi craving & don’t want to splurge on the good stuff.

Can’t comment on Checkers el cheapo sushi.

It might be possible PnP & Spar do a budget jobbie better than Checkers.

I didn't ever eaten sushi before but I tried with my sister in KZN the Fashion sandwich and California rolls prawn wow was decent.

Back here in Centurion now and what I have realised the Chinese in KZN has way better prices. I mean you buy 8 get 8 free and then you pay like R72 for it. Here it's R78 for 8 pcs only.

Anyways was still tasty. Fashion Sandwich Prawn x 8 pcs.

If I wanted to smell sushi again I'd just ask @Grant to roll back his foreskin.

Can't stand that stench of raw fish nowadays. I'd rather throw on a large prime piece of lamb or venison on the braai.

I love Sushi but I would not call myself an experiences sushi expert. As long as it taste good and the rice is fresh, I am happy. I also think sushi is overpriced at most places, so will only eat it at half price specials. Most sushi places seem to run some kind of specials during the week.

Local Thai place (1/2 price Thursday).

Salmon salad was R35.

The plate I have here was R140 (R35x4).

Seven Seas?

I have an all-you-can-eat place near me. It's about R200, and the all-you-can-eat deal also includes noodle dishes and desserts. Sometimes we go, and eat until we can’t move.
