The US and the Kurds are the two doing the most to fight ISIS, so no.

Refer to post #3419, the US were in this for 4 years before Russia joined, in that 4 years ISIS grew from strength to strength, captured US supplied weapons by the ton and was never bombed or attacked in any significant fashion by anyone.

The US might be in the fight against ISIS now, but that does not change the fact that they did so little in the 4 years prior that any logical person can only interpret it as tacit consent for ISIS.

You can laugh all you want, the US made weapons that ISIS typically use and the fleet of Toyota's they cruise around in came from the US.

Those weapon drops continued and even increased even after it was known that they end up in ISIS hands.

Those are irrefutable facts, now ask yourself what possible motive could there have been other than supporting anyone who fights Assad, even ISIS?

More of the same. Just like Russia supported the Ukraine rebels with weapons with which they shot down the plane. ;)

State Department officials call for U.S. military action against Assad regime

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/06/16/politics/state-department-syria/

More than 50 State Department officials signed an internal memo protesting U.S. policy in Syria, calling for targeted U.S. military strikes against the regime of Bashar al-Assad and urging regime change as the only way to defeat ISIS.

Memo: Tougher military action needed in Syria
Sources familiar with the memo said the officials had been discussing sending it for some time, but they finally decided to move forward because negotiations with Russia over a political transition in Syria have all but collapsed and the fragile ceasefire continues to disintegrate. The memo says that neither Assad nor Russia have taken past ceasefires and negotiations seriously and suggests a more robust military approach was needed to force a transitional government in Syria.

There's a distinct difference you don't seem to appreciate: USA openly admitted to dropping tons of weapons and that they ended up in ISIS hands. Russia denies supplying BUK missiles to Ukraine rebels.

Now of course you are most welcome to say Russia could be lying, of course they could be, but US supplied weapons ending up with ISIS isn't in speculation and denial territory at all, the US said so themselves.

Captured a lot more Russian supplied weapons.

The US does more like send special forces and you rant and rave, they dont do anything and you rant and rave. That's just you playing tennis without the net.

Then thanks for confirming that Russian soldiers themselves shot down the plane. The simple fact is that the USA are attacking ISIS forces not Syrian forces yet russia are attacking the forces who also attacks ISIS forces. There is a common trend I see.

Rant and rave? How? :D

US meddling is what caused the entire f-up in the middle east, from Iraq to Libya to Syria and yes that includes giving birth to ISIS and then empowering them.

Not once, not for a single instant, has anyone complained about them doing nothing, if they did nothing to begin with everything would probably be better. So yes when they meddle I'll point out their meddling is not needed and has not yielded anything positive.

Iraq even told them as much; that they are not needed to fight ISIS in Iraq. The same holds true for Syria, if they leave and stop meddling it'll all be over soon ;)

There is no solid proof of who fired the missile at all, but way to go jumping to conclusions that just prove you're incapable or unwilling to objectively look at facts. Russia denies supplying the missile, Russia denies firing the missile, the rebels and Ukraine both deny the same two things. So you just choose which one you believe based on CNN, the bastion of factual information that knows no bias ... :D

OK. The plane was shot down with a BUK so If its none of them then we better check our own military. May we have done it. How many Buks do we have again? LOL.

Typical Russian underhand tactics hey SnoopyPutinDog?

Funny. America trying to dictate which countries can have which form of the democracy their people think they have. Hopefully Saudi Arabia is next in America's Pinky & the Brain plot to take over the world.

Seriously do you remember George Bush Jr standing on an American warship with a banner "Mission Accomplished"?

Russian and American warplanes confronted one another in the skies above Syria after Moscow bombed an elite force of US-trained rebels.

The Pentagon on Friday scrambled F/A-18 fighters to fend off an attack by Moscow's most advanced bombers on moderate opposition fighters it is supporting.

When the F/A-18s approached the Russians moved out of the area, but when the US fighters paused to refuel they returned and struck the base again, in what appeared to be a deliberately provocative move.

The Russians had been ordered to back off by the US pilots directly using a special communications channel set up to prevent air accidents, but were ignored.

Shortly after, US military officials held a video conference with Russia in which they "expressed strong concerns about the attack on the coalition-supported counter-Isil forces at the Al-Tanf garrison, which included New Syrian Army forces that are participants in the cessation of hostilities in Syria," said Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook.

U.S. and Russian Jets Clash Over Syria

American and Russian fighter jets had a tense showdown in the skies above Syria as the Russians dropped bombs on U.S.-backed rebels.

U.S. and Russian fighter jets bloodlessly tangled in the air over Syria on June 16 as the American pilots tried and failed to stop the Russians from bombing U.S.-backed rebels in southern Syria near the border with Jordan

Kerry says US diplomats' call to bomb Assad 'a well-written argument'

US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday he had read a memo from a group of frustrated diplomats urging strikes against the Syrian government and found it "very good".

The "dissent cable" became public last week after 51 serving US officials signed a call for direct US military action to force Bashar al-Assad's government to negotiate for peace.

The memo was seen as a criticism of President Barack Obama's cautious approach, but the "dissent channel" is an approved mechanism for diplomats opposed to official policy.

The State Department has already said the dissident mid-level staff will not face retribution for speaking out, and on Monday their boss Kerry appeared to signal support for their views.

Asked at a public event for college students whether he had read the dissenting memo, which was leaked to the press last week, Kerry said: "Yes. It's very good. I'm going to meet with them."

Iraq takes 'last IS bastion in Falluja'

The Iraqi army says it has seized the last strongholds of the Islamic State (IS) group in the city of Falluja.
The head of counterterrorism forces in the operation, Lt Gen Abdul-Wahad al-Saadi, said his troops had entered the north-western Golan neighbourhood, the last area still under IS control.
He said the city, 50km (30 miles) west of Baghdad, was "fully liberated".
IS seized control of Falluja in January 2014. The government launched an operation to retake it in May

Regime Change

Someone had to take out Savimbi to stop the war in Angola
Perhaps this is the best way forward in Syria.

Hopefully the new guy is more balanced , neutral and capable of putting together a government for the Syrian people.
That excludes mindless religious extremists
and
Gets all the external role players out of the Middle East.

No, best way forward is to stop supporting terrorists in Syria and let the SAA clear the terrorists out.

If the democratically elected Syrian Government is removed it's almost guaranteed it will turn into another Libya. The terrorists already have infighting over the small pieces of territory they have and it will only get worse as they get more power.
