my base position was that none of the candidates with the potential to win would make good leaders. That covers Trump, Sanders and Hitler (ahem cough Hillary)

my biggest fascination with this whole US election is how people genuinely believe the winning candidate will materially change the end result

This is just sad, even for someone who knows there is absolutely no difference in the end result of the election regardless of who wins

To be clear I don't care who wins the election in the least, any candidate from any party will end up being just like all the puppets before

Strangest for me, sitting on the sideline watching a circus I know does not matter in the least

every single US president since has been nothing but a complete fool, puppet of the system and sociopath to boot. Without exception.

I try to take care at least to point out all the US presidential candidates would yield pretty much the same result as they always have

They'll all turn out exactly the same establishment puppets as their predecessors in the end, quote me on that in about 2 years

all of which is remarkably consistent with this wouldn't you say?

Would you like me to supply the multiple posts where I've stated categorically, before, during and after the US election that Trump would end up being just another puppet like every US president before him?

The US missile attack on a Syrian government airbase risks escalating the war in Syria still further.Tuesday’s horrific chemical attack was a war crime which requires urgent independent UN investigation and those responsible must be held to account.But unilateral military action without legal authorisation or independent verification risks intensifying a multi-sided conflict that has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. What is needed instead is to urgently reconvene the Geneva peace talks and unrelenting international pressure for a negotiated settlement of the conflict.The terrible suffering of the Syrian people must be brought to an end as soon as possible and every intervention must be judged on what contribution it makes to that outcome. The British government should urge restraint on the Trump administration and throw its weight behind peace negotiations and a comprehensive political settlement.

Russian military to strengthen Syrian air defences - AP

The Russian military says it will help Syria strengthen its air defences after the US strike on a Syrian air base, the Associated Press (AP) reports.

Russian defence ministry spokesman Maj Gen Igor Konashenkov said that a “complex of measures” to strengthen Syrian air defences will be done shortly to help “protect the most sensitive Syrian infrastructure facilities.”

Konashenkov said “the combat efficiency of the U.S. strike was very low,” adding that only 23 of the 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles reached the Shayrat air base in the province of Homs.

He said it destroyed six MiG-23 fighter jets of the Syrian air force which were under repairs, but didn’t damage other Syrian warplanes at the base.

Konashenkov added that the base’s runway also has been left undamaged.

How much more escalation can happen before we see US/Russian direct conflict?

Where in that link is any new evidence, or any evidence whatsoever provided? And feel free to stop implying I said it is not Assad, I'm making a case that it hasn't been proven, only alleged, it could still be him, it's more likely someone else who stands to gain from the whole affair.
