The Syrian Conflict Thread

The TOW isn't an anti-aircraft weapon, it's an anti-tank weapon (as your link states).

Still a bit crap they are supplying AQ with them, just goes to show all the anti-government forces are linked in someway though, a better analogy is when the US Ambassadors armoured limo in Jordan/Iraq/Egypt is hit by one...
I know that very well. However position one within range of an airport and it can make a nice bang on a taxying 787.

Wikileaks: Hillary Clinton Claims Saudi Arabia is the Largest Donor to “Sunni Terrorists” Worldwide

Wikileaks has struck again; this time, they have revealed a U.S. government cable sent from the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to the U.S. Treasury office that specifically alluded to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s substantial financial donations to international terrorist groups fighting the U.S. Armed Forces.

According to an introductory cable that discussed Saudi Arabia’s background:

“Donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide.”

Secretary of State Clinton followed this statement up with the following:

“Continued senior level USG engagement is needed to build-on initial efforts and encourage the Saudi government to take more steps to stem the flow of funds from Saudi Arabia-backed sources to terrorists and extremists worldwide.”

USA gives Isis 45 minute warning with leaflets before they bomb their oil trucks

In Al-Bukamal, we destroyed 116 tanker trucks, which we believe will reduce ISIL's ability to transport its stolen oil products.

This is our first strike against tanker trucks, and to minimize risks to civilians, we conducted a leaflet drop prior to the strike. We did a show of force, by -- we had aircraft essentially buzz the trucks at low altitude.

So, I do have copy of the leaflet, and I have got some videos, so why don't you pull the leaflet up. Let me take a look at it so I can talk about it.

As you can see, it's a fairly simple leaflet, it says, "Get out of your trucks now, and run away from them." A very simple message.

And then, also, "Warning: airstrikes are coming. Oil trucks will be destroyed. Get away from your oil trucks immediately. Do not risk your life."

And so, these are the leaflets that we dropped -- about 45 minutes before the airstrikes actually began. Again, we combine these leaflet drops with very low altitude passes of some of our attack aviation, which sends a very powerful message.

Did Isis give France a 45 minute warning last week Friday? USA taking care of their own.

It's quite unlikely that Daesh is driving the oil tankers, they will have forced the drivers to work for them.

Hit civilians, you complain, try and avoid hitting civilians you still complain. Still playing tennis without the net hey snoop.

The USA never warned "Jihadi John" or the hospital in Kunduz they also bombed. Why they so concerned about their Isis Terrorists? Why are you? Do you really hate Russia that much that you sympathize with Isis?

It appears so since he trolls the Ukraine thread posting the same anti-Russian crap. Now that there's some peace there he's now in the Syrian thread. Clear Russian hater.

You know I've crossed swords with Unhappy before, and while I do think that his views on the whole Ukraine saga were somewhat biased, there really is no cause to accuse him of harbouring some intense irrational hatred for Russia and that its skewing his views with regards to what is happening in Syria.

Indeed, he's already said once that he supports what the Russians are doing in the fight against ISIS, so I really don't know wtf the big deal is.

And unless anyone has proof that the truck drivers carrying the oil were anything but poor bastards trying to eke out a living in a really crappy situation, stfu and be glad they aren't dead.

We have separate opinions. Do at least try and remember that, please.

He's a past master at the propaganda and can read Ukrainian. Go figure!

Thanks but its better to rather just leave them be, they think they are irritating me with the constant trolling but its actually rather entertaining.

if you work for ISIS you aren't a civilian.

Oh, come on, don't be silly. There are millions of civilians trying to survive in areas where Daesh operate, you think the tanker drivers are going to refuse to drive when a group of murderous savages who enjoy beheading people threatens them and their families.

There were reports of doctors being beaten, threatened and even killed in hospitals in Daesh areas for not working hard enough. You aren't going to say doctors who stayed behind to care for patients who are now being forced to treat Daesh fighters as also being members of Daesh?

Medics are protected by convention.

Tanker drivers in Iraq were not spared by insurgents either. Neither were interpreters.

I pose the question again as to why the tankers and oil storage facilities were still intact after so long until Russia arrived??

No one is spared under the barbarism of Daesh.

A good question that I doubt anyone who knows will actually answer...

Did russia do the bombing of the oil tanker convoy? Do they also warn citizens with pamphlets before they attack to spare lives?

Actually it's very clear. Firstly the military action taken against ISIS has been little more than a token gesture to serve narrow domestic political considerations. To be seen to be doing something while at the same time adhering to delusional ideological convictions that intervening creates more terrorists and only ever serves to make the situation worse.

The tankers were stationary so I doubt that was necessary unless they use them as accomodation.
In one news broadcast, they used the Russian footage but claimed it was the US strike (no footage of that, which is also odd)
