Track-Ready Tuned Tesla Model 3 Revealed

Can you really tune an electric car and make it faster? RevoZport believes you can and has revealed a crazy aerodynamic package for the Tesla Model 3.

It can't be easy to be a tuner with electric cars coming to market. You can't tweak the electric engine much, although tuners are trying to sharpen power delivery and increase battery capacity for extra performance. So attention is being turned to aerodynamics and suspension to improve performance. RevoZport's electric arm R-ZENTRIC has released a special aero package for the Tesla Model 3 and we think it looks incredible.

Looks nice.

Tesla's next step forward has to be going for an 800V system similar to the Taycan. The repeatable hard launches and cooler running really edge it towards to the Taycan.

Tesla Model 3 is April's best-selling new car in UK

Electric saloon accounted for around 15% of all sales, as the new car market plummeted 97% due to the pandemic

The Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling car in the UK last month, as new car sales dropped 97% as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Figures from the SMMT show that 658 Model 3s were sold in April, accounting for around 15% of all new car sales. With dealerships closed and customers adhering to the nationwide stay-at-home directive, just 4321 new cars were sold in April, down from 161,064 in the same period last year.

Tesla's secret batteries aim to slash prices of electric cars

Electric car maker Tesla Inc plans to introduce a new low-cost, long-life battery in its Model 3 sedan in China later this year or early next that it expects will bring the cost of electric vehicles in line with gasoline models, and allow EV batteries to have second and third lives in the electric power grid.

For months, Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk has been teasing investors, and rivals, with promises to reveal significant advances in battery technology during a "Battery Day" in late May.

New, low-cost batteries designed to last for a million miles of use and enable electric Teslas to sell profitably for the same price or less than a gasoline vehicle are just part of Musk's agenda, people familiar with the plans told Reuters.

With a global fleet of more than 1 million electric vehicles that are capable of connecting to and sharing power with the grid, Tesla's goal is to achieve the status of a power company, competing with such traditional energy providers as Pacific Gas & Electric and Tokyo Electric Power, those sources said.

The new “million mile” battery at the center of Tesla's strategy was jointly developed with China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL) and deploys technology developed by Tesla in collaboration with a team of academic battery experts recruited by Musk, three people familiar with the effort said.

Eventually, improved versions of the battery, with greater energy density and storage capacity and even lower cost, will be introduced in additional Tesla vehicles in other markets, including North America, the sources said.

The Tesla Model 3's New Frunk Design Likely Means More Range Improvements

While the Tesla Model Y is mostly just a crossover version of the Tesla Model 3 sedan, there were some key differences when the new model was introduced. Now, though, the Model 3 has been updated with the Y’s frunk design, which could mean it’ll get more range soon.

One of the critical differences between the Tesla Model Y and the Tesla Model 3 it’s built upon was the redesigned front end that made room for a new heat pump, which the 3 didn’t have at the time, and still apparently doesn’t.

Instead of a fairly traditional heat pump for temperature management of the car’s climate control system, like you might find on a combustion car, the Model 3 uses its massive electric battery pack to do the same job. The only issue is the energy used for other purposes means it won’t be used for performance and range, which has kind of been Tesla’s big thing for years.

Tesla plots Model 3 hatchback to rival Volkswagen ID 3

New production process could allow for cheaper Model 3 relative to arrive in 2021

Tesla is looking to continue its global push for volume and usurp the efforts of ‘legacy’ car makers with a more affordable compact hatchback model, according to boss Elon Musk.

It is believed that the new car, aimed primarily at Europe, would be a restyled and adapted version of the existing Model 3 – and it could be produced beside the saloon at the US firm’s new plant near Berlin, Germany.

Speaking to investors and analysts on a recent conference call, Musk stressed that “we will not succeed in our mission if we don’t make cars affordable”, adding: “The thing that bugs me the most about where we are right now is that our cars aren’t affordable enough. We need to fix that”.

Alexander Sims eyes fastest EV charging record with Tesla Model 3

Formula E racer will showcase improved UK infrastructure with journey from John o' Groats to Land's End

Formula E racing driver Alexander Sims will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest charging time for an electric car in order to demonstrate improvements in EV charging infrastructure.

For the attempt, sponsored by environmental charity Zero Carbon World, Sims will team up with charity founder Kevin Sharpe and EV specialist David Peilow to drive a Tesla Model 3 from John o' Groats to Land’s End, attempting to beat the record for the shortest time spent charging an EV driving the route.

The mark to beat currently sits at 3hr 44min 33sec and was set in 2015. However, due to improvements in EV charging infrastructure, the Zero Carbon World team expects to spend no more than two hours charging, beating the record comfortably on 12 September.

Zero World Carbon trustee Dean Fielding said: “We're planning for around 15-16 hours of driving and four short recharge stops along the way, which we hope will amount to a maximum of two hours.

Tesla Spent $0 for Ads in 2019, While Hyundai, Lincoln, & Jaguar Spent $1.5-2K Per Vehicle

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has opposed paid advertising for quite some time now. He has always been clear in his position that Tesla will not advertise or pay for endorsements, and that the company's money is better used to create great products people love.

Tesla to roll out Model 3 cars with cobalt-free batteries, sources say

US electric car maker Tesla is poised to start selling some Model 3 vehicles made in China equipped with cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, two people familiar with the matter said.

Currently the Model 3 electric sedans made at the carmaker's Chinese plant use nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries.

Tesla will announce the product change as early as Thursday, the two sources said. They declined to be named as the matter is confidential.

Would you do this to your Tesla Model 3’s face?

Gosh. Look what German tuner Startech has done to this Model 3...

Welcome to yet another option for the Tesla Model 3 owner who wants to make his or her car stand-out from the hundreds of thousands of others. It’s a bodykit by Startech, the bit of Brabus that tunes non-Mercs, and can be yours next month for a few thousand Euro.

Available parts include a new front-bumper that totally changes the Model 3’s face, plus a new rear-bumper, spoiler and side-skirts. The bumpers will set you back just under €2,400, and you’ll pay another €440 for the wing. We’re told they’re made from “high-grade carbon” and something called “PUR-R-RIM”. What they do for range is anyone’s guess.

Tesla Model 3 gets design and cabin tweaks, range boost

Model S and X also receive Long Range Plus powertrain in UK, bringing a range for the former of 405 miles

Tesla has updated the Model 3 with a host of small revisions and upgrades – and added Long Range Plus versions of the Model S and Model X to the UK pricing list.

The Model 3 now benefits from some subtle exterior upgrades, including satin black trim for the door handles, side repeaters and window trim. An updated design of Sport wheels (available in 18in and 19in) plus a 20in ‘Uberturbine’ wheel option also feature and the tyres have been uprated to boost efficiency.

Inside, there are both trim and design upgrades. The gloss black on the dashboard and centre console has been replaced by a matt black finish, while satin black sill plates, graphite seat controls and metalised scroll wheels on the steering wheel now feature.

The centre console has been changed to allow wireless charging pads for two smartphones and the sunvisors have become magnetic so they snap black into place. There are also two additional USB-C ports and another USB-A port in the glovebox.
