Rapid intensification of hurricane Beryl threatens the southern Caribbean:
Forecasters said the hurricane is "extremely dangerous" and anticipate it developing into a category four storm - meaning it is predicted to have winds of up to 155mph (250km/h) and storm surge of six to ten feet (1.8-3 metres).

The major storm is expected to strengthen further as nears the Caribbean islands of Barbados, Dominica, Grenada and Martinique, among others.

If it's illegal to offend people now then I don't want to live in this world anyway, so hopefully mother nature will do it for us if WW3 takes too long.
Well, since I have family in the usual path of these hurricanes you can takes your comments and sentiments and shove it

I think you can press charges against me and send me to prison now for 5 years. Bring on WW3.

I trust your family will take heed of warnings and prepare for the worst. And At least one fellow member of myBB will be holding thumbs for them.

Thanks Geoff. They've moved from Tallahassee to the New Port Richey area, very close to the in-laws. So at least there is family to assist whenever the Gulf decides to start joining the party. Must admit, I was more at ease with them in Tally, given its distance from the coast, but such is life...

Relatively weak hurricane can still stall and produce devastating flooding:
The weather system strengthened into a Category One hurricane late on Sunday and came ashore near Steinhatchee on Monday morning, said the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

It is now forecast to move slowly across the state, packing 80mph winds and dumping as much as 30in (76cm) of rain as it moves north.

Kids got a drenching as the outer bands crossed over , just to the north of Tampa. No damage, just a lot of water....
Similar to us. We have had lots of water for weeks now. Something is wrong obviously. Since when does it rain when there is stormy weather? heh heh :giggle:
