The true MNP numbers

His idea would work if his staff gave the service he made the Virgin name out of.... the service in general in this country sucks... And the next time I see him, I'm giving him the names of everyone at Virgin Mobile that pissed me off and arn't bothered enough to return a phone call.. never mind do their job.

Could be worse. You could have the "service" in England. It makes Telkom and any SA company seem great. BT is the worst compay ever, and NatWest is not far behind. Virgin Media is unspeakable.
You wait on hold for close to an hour to get through to BT, just to find out that you have been redirected to the wrong callcentre. Rinse and repeat 5 time ove a week. This will cost you over £50 in cellphone charges.
And all Brit companies "Systems" are always down.

Be appreciative of what you have

I happily ported away from vodacom to MTN.

Now I have GPRS/3G that works, no more dropped calls, superior clarity of calls. Couldnt be happier.

My Vodacom use to swap between GSM and UMTS every freaking 30 seconds. I thought it was because I used a 32K simcard and MTN was one of the "3G" simcards...

maybe the MTN network is just better, because the MTN network doesnt swap between 3G and GSM for me in my area?

I am in Durban with MTN. My phone swops between the 2 all the time. So annoying and chows my battery...

What type of simcard are you using? is it a 3G sim or normal 32kb?

I have noticed my MTN one swap around like 3 times max, but then it changes back to 3G within seconds. Vodacom stayed GSM for a couple of minutes at a time.
