The truth about Openweb

Yes, because your rational, linguistics and use of slang all enforces it in your posts :whistle: Please say hello to the Dunning-Kruger effect Mr. Semaphore. Now time to get back to work and let the rants fall on deaf ears.

I was not ranting to begin with, perhaps you should brush up on your comprehension skills.

It is a bit sad that we've reached the pitchfork mob levels where anyone who so much as dares to make a post that isn't completely tarring and feathering OpenWeb is labeled a troll, an apologist or MrBeep.

This whole "you're either with us or against us" mentality is getting rather tiresome about now. Meanwhile I'm still getting insane value for money on my Openweb account.

@semaphore
It's a case of perspective / eye of the beholder. Whilst you have received great service (throughput and support) from OpenWeb, there have been a great deal of MyBB members, that have not. Whilst PostmanPot has been aggressive towards "defenders", it's still of value to you to know of these issues.

If you have a look at the official feedback thread, you'll notice that there was plenty of heroes/defenders that over the span of time started experiencing the same issues as people like some members in this thread have highlighted, put down there shields and picked up the pitchforks along with the ever-so-growing angry mob.

You're one of the lucky few to get great service from them, but take note that there are some underlying issues that you need to be aware of.

Exactly my point. I came here genuinely curious about the situation, because i don't want my money going to a company that doesn't deliver. But i am also being honest about my experience about it, immediately i am all pro-ow. I am pro any company that delivers, and so far they are for me. Why so should i get mob mentality and slander the **** out of a company that has not done anything to me.

Least there is a voice of reason among the mob.

No i am in total agreement with you, that is why i started reading these threads. I even then started going over my account details checking different usage and even changed my password.

A turd is still a turd no matter what.

The irony is that your 1Mbit account which gets up to 2Mbps speeds only adds proof to the already mountain of it which supports the lies and deceit we've been led through.

I was making a joke.

I don't see the harm or pitch fork. Any pitch fork comes inherently from OW when you dared to say something against OW and you where crucified, repeatedly and publicly in that very thread. It was quite the religious inquisition at times...

If you can't take the joke I made, then I'd really suggest that you stand up and return after 100 pushups or at least good cup of coffee :)

So true. One of the more sensible things you've said. ;)

And a mob stays a mob. Nobody is denying any of the allegations that have been made against OpenWeb, but you guys really need to step back and take a look at yourselves.

At this point the mob mentality has reached the salem witch trails level. Someone isn't even allowed to post that they're not having issues with their account without the anti-OW brigade descending on them.

Mate, I wasn't referring to you, nor talking to you. I can't even decipher your posts half the time I read them.

Actually the logic is sound and it has been echoed by these uncapped providers. Its called the AUP. Perhaps educate yourself a bit.
I hear you but how can OW have an AUP (U=usage) when they don't track usage?

I certainly never said they're not allowed to, I hope you know that. I said there is no need to jump ship other than that one is supporting a dodgy company. I said I am glad they are having a good experience. I went on further to say that I also had one of the nice accounts when I was with OW. I cannot [morally] support it though.

potheads approach made me unsubscribe from the feedback thread originally. every fsuckn day the same fsuckn thing. on and on and on and on. the ultimate keyboard warrior who took an oath to shine the light up OW's asscrack. im going to unsubscribe again from all these threads since its just rinse and repeat now. enjoy the campaign against OW.

or you could just simple move the fsuck on.

Which you then start resulting to aggression, because other people don't have your mind set.

Not sure where you get that. If i log into my client zone i can see my usage for the month.

Uhm... Keoma hammered on an on about OpenWeb not tracking usage;

According to OpenWeb's CEO Keoma Wright, they do not log usage stats on their uncapped accounts. "Why should we care how much data our client has used on the account? Unlimited means just that. Some ISPs's monitor client data so that they can enforce drastic throttling policies, making an account slow or even unusable. By default, we don't monitor anyone's usage on uncapped accounts."

Thus any AUP is redundant and should not apply.
