The truth about Openweb

Getting full line speeds most of the time, even on torrents!
 
Granted, your account may be performing well, but how can you be happy to support a company that acts like this? Do you really think that when your account gives a problem, they'll be there to sort it out? You're aware that they'll happily lie to you, just as they've done to others? Or do you feel that you're an exception to the rule?

Don't get me wrong- the moment this account starts giving me crap I'm not asking Keoma for a new one. I'm cancelling, blocking the debit order for the next month and moving to CrystalWeb. But until then, I'll stick with this account and rape it with downloads day and night.
 
from 18.00 - 08.00 I get good speed. but my account are dead from 08.00 to about 18.00. average speeds of around 10kbps. I do not use news servers. or torrents. only straight forward http/https/ftp.

yet I don't have an afterhours account. no I got a 4mb gamers bling download king account.

the support staff treat you like a child. or are plain very rude.

or you get threatened if you post anything about it.

since march this year my daytime speeds average around 10kbps.

you struggle to open normal webpages. emails. gmail. facebook. etc.

its no longer a pleasant experience. yet I'm still afraid what you might get with another isp.

Get a free 1gb account from afrihost.
Connect to it.
Be like "oh wow, this is pretty awesome."
Try youtube again, remember how it used to be that you could watch without pausing for half an hour since your upgrade to a 4mb line
Submit cancellation request to openweb before the end of this month
Try to survive another ****ty month on openweb
Buy whatever afrihost account suits you - for me this was the R399/200GB that works vs the R589/gold uncapped something something edition that didn't.

Some accounts are more equal than others! I have the exact same account as you and getting full line speeds as we speak...
 
I took my chance and went with another ISP. They are far from perfect (as are most human beings)
However, as poor as my connection is at times, it works, and I don't get a cock and bull story when I ask why!

This is becoming like a debate about cars.

The puzzling thing is that me and you both have the same account, yet it seems we are receiving different levels of service.

In the past, the reason was 'different regional/IPC loads'. We then proved the difference between users in the same region/IPC. You can guess what happened next: Nothing.

Lower tier accounts regularly outperform higher tier accounts.

Are you' not concerned about the poor service that everyone else seems to be receiving? Not concerned that openweb are incapable of dismissing all these serious allegations? Not concerned that MrBEEP decided to go on a never-ending vacation, just as people started asking questions? Not concerned that openweb have completely removed themselves from mybroadband? Not concerned that their feedback thread got unstickied as soon as people started demanding answers? Not concerned that people have multiple IP's connecting to their accounts from different parts of the country? Not concerned that your password is 1122? Not concerned that their "dynamic" shaping policy seems to be a complete lie? Not concerned that there is seemingly no difference between their gold/titan/leon gold/orange gold/etc accounts, other than the price? Not concerned that two people, on different packages, were given the same account details? Not concerned that you have to request for your account to have the ability to change passwords?

I can go on.... I guess what i'm trying to say is, "are you not concerned!?"

Are you really getting what you're paying for? Because, when things go wrong, you're not gonna get the support that you're paying for..

To me, it's a matter of principle. I could not go and support this type of business. I actually tend to care about the way a business treats other people, it isn't just about myself.

It's a matter of principal that is my argument from the start.

There is an account related thing I am sure of it. When I started with Ow Gold on Vodacom it was great. I hit 200-300GB consistently. For mounts no problem.

Then they started. By the end I suspect I was asking for a new account every 2 weeks. Note I want asking for a temporary account. I'd change backbones often.

And then it struck me after a month that this was not normal. So let them.

Sitting back now and thinking how my internet just works, is a different experience when I thought Keoma can solve my problem within a reasonable time. Yet I paid not to actually interact with him.
 
To put in perspective, when I got heated with iBurst and got the CEO involved it was the last legs of my existing that relationship.

As a consumer, it's not a great thing when you and the CEO are sharing stories

Me think Mr. Beep doesn't care because we, at myBB, are a very small fraction of his client base. As long as the rest of his client base are still living in the dark, he should be OK :D
