The truth about Openweb

I'm also not clear on the difference, one the website the other the forum?

Ok clearly im missing something. For me MyBB is short for MyBroadBand, which is this very site. If they have done a story on this could u pls provide a link and if this is the case ill happily apologize. It just feels like MyBB (AKA MyBroadBand) have become a copy/paste site with the same regurgitated stuff, like "best Broadband in SA, Best ISP, Top downloaded X, Online deals, Cheapest ADSL, Cheapest Fibre, Cheapest 3g..." and MyGaming is no better really.

I believe @Necundo was meaning "MyADSL", not "MyBB". That is what they were called before turning into a mostly-clickbait repost site.

Ah that clears that one up, and it's truth

I'm not sure if it's me maybe i'm missing it somewhere but have the forum comments for the above article been disabled or what? I can not see the "share your thoughts" button but i have a few thoughts i'd like to share about it. Total censorship?

They got wise to the negative commentary happening on the forum after closing off article comments. Now, no one can show potential ISP customers how bad Opensewer are in their paid for articles. Instead, they get promoted on the front page. Sad day MyBB, sad day. Just know that your endorsement of the worst ISP in South Africa will most likely turn away people who have fallen for the Openscam adverts from your frontpage.

Yes agree, because that basically paints MyBB as an unreliable source in the field when those uninformed people realise they were fooled by MyBB & signed up for poo

MyBB has zero credibility in real IT circles I have heard and seen this over and over and over.

I will never mention mybb at work the guys will laugh at you

Never had any complaints when I used them 2 years ago, but it was just for an extra 5GB to slap onto the back of a capped Telkom account for a few months before I finally got uncapped. Certainly a lot more reputable and professional to deal with than Incredible Connect/"Cybersmart"/AKA 50 billion other dodgy things.

Just No.

uhm

Are you smoking something?

Well I had been suffering from capped delirium but nope. The Incredible Connect/Cybersmart/other dodgy things data was free for a year (extra 5GB) with my sister's laptop purchase and then OpenWeb seemed like a good way to keep that 5GB going after Cybersmart proved to be too shady. And it worked just fine, tickets were responded to quick and during the time I was using them (about 8 months) I was happy.

Thing is they do respond quick to tickets, but in my personal experience 90% of my problems were made by them when they would throttle my account speed for no reason, and so i wouldn't really call them great even when they responded quickly. If they were an honest business i wouldn't have needed to contact them sooooo often
