You have missed the point. Let me explain.

If you have a magazine, would you allow drug dealers, and Mr Kreijcir to advertise in it? The answer is probably, NO.
The main bulk of the argument is you have overwhelming evidence against a certain advertiser on your forum, and despite the evidence, you allow him to continue here, because he PAYS YOUR SALARY! THAT, is the argument, the morality of allowing what is technically a fraudster, to continue here. If you do that, you may as well send a message to Brian Gibello and tell him he is once again welcome to come here and relaunch Dotcomputers.co.za.

If I were the forum owner, I'd demand some explanation from the other side, and put a hold on pimping until the good Dr cleans up his act. But of course, we have that little problem called CORPORATE GREED, that most South Africans seem to catch easier than the common cold.

The moderators are not responsible for the content published on MyBB.
This has already been explained to you several times...
So if you want to talk about being obtuse.
 
....typically a website has agreements with advertising agencies who control (feed advertisements to) the banners etc. the websites display
Never do the websites have advertising agreements witch each and every site that pops up on their banners etc.
So I really don't see how myBB is supposedly promoting OpenWeb if it's showing up in the site's advertising spaces. Find out who myBB's advertising partner is and go argue with them and leave the innocent people on the forum alone.

No, I am not saying that or implying that. The mods are doing a job, my beef is that we cannot ask them to find out why, or shuffle our complaints via them.

If you are asking for the moderators to influence editorial content then we are on a very slippery slope to oblivion.

You need to direct your queries, conspiracies, evidence, requests for articles, etc. to ADMIN.

And mods are NOT part of Admin.

NO website gives a crap beyond trying to make sure that their advertising partners will only feed their banners safe for work content (if it's a safe for work site). After that it's simply about recouping as much of the hosting costs as possible and whichever advertiser will give you that, without being too obtrusive, is who you go with. End of story.

You don't sit there and then research and approve every single company that shows up on your banner/advertising spaces.

Just be happy this place doesn't use Viglink.
 
I am coming in late into the debate, but from what I understand some people want us to influence who advertises on the site, and what they can say. This is a very dangerous suggestion.

What you are actually suggesting is that we should blend editorial content, moderation, and finances. I know you would try to phrase it differently, but the moment that the editorial side and moderators start to decide on advertisers, and what they can say, the fields blend.

We prefer to separate the financial side of MyBroadband with the editorial side. This is common among media businesses, and this model means journalists can write what they want, without fear or favour. The mods are also not influenced by advertisers, and we think this is a healthy situation.

Unmm as long as no laws are being broken, I would advertise anyone.

You know weed is advertised in Colorado and Washington cause it's legal there.

Please do us a favor, file complaints (even file the against MyBB). Sitting on the forum complaining is not going to change anything. What it is doing is alienating you from the community.

There was the one "article" published by MyBB around that time that they asked OW a few questions regarding the shared accounts. Iirc it was all explained away as coincidence or accidently assigning two people to the same account. Can't get hold of the article now.
