The truth about Openweb

....typically a website has agreements with advertising agencies who control (feed advertisements to) the banners etc. the websites display
Never do the websites have advertising agreements witch each and every site that pops up on their banners etc.
So I really don't see how myBB is supposedly promoting OpenWeb if it's showing up in the site's advertising spaces. Find out who myBB's advertising partner is and go argue with them and leave the innocent people on the forum alone.

This is why we have partner content appearing on the front page of MyBroadband from Opensewer. Actual articles. Which then dictate closed discussions and even more recently, CLOSED FORUM COMMENTS. Fine, I can understand banner ads being provided by an advertising company. This goes far beyond that. It is protected content, splattered all over the front page and forums. Who ordered the closed comment sections? Who approved it? Do the advertisers control free and open comment on the forum topics these days? Keoma and co don't step in to defend their reputation here - nope, they just pay for censorship.

OW pays for censorship? Why is this thread running so long? Why haven't the other threads been removed?

There was the one "article" published by MyBB around that time that they asked OW a few questions regarding the shared accounts. Iirc it was all explained away as coincidence or accidently assigning two people to the same account. Can't get hold of the article now.

Yes, I remember it.
I also don't think that his answers addressed the complaints very well.

Have you checked if that happens with all the partner content or just OW.
I don't know myself, that's why I am asking.

People used to be able to comment on the actual article, until they stopped it.

Those people then moved on to the forum comments, but last week they started locking threads after the initial Mod post.

I suppose they can only censor the stuff they pay for...at the moment. I imagine there would be quite a *****storm if these threads got locked as well...

I am coming in late into the debate, but from what I understand some people want us to influence who advertises on the site, and what they can say. This is a very dangerous suggestion.

What you are actually suggesting is that we should blend editorial content, moderation, and finances. I know you would try to phrase it differently, but the moment that the editorial side and moderators start to decide on advertisers, and what they can say, the fields blend.

We prefer to separate the financial side of MyBroadband with the editorial side. This is common among media businesses, and this model means journalists can write what they want, without fear or favour. The mods are also not influenced by advertisers, and we think this is a healthy situation.

How long does it typically take your advertising team to get back to a potential customer? I ask here because you no longer respond to PMs or emails our company sends you. After an initial chat with Cara relating to advertising on MyBB, we were asked to email our request. First was sent and delivered on the 17th of September. Second was sent and delivered on the 23rd. Neither have been acknowledged, and neither have been responded to.

So I'm curious as to how one can actually go about arranging this protected editorial content and advertising space with MyBB seeing as by phone and email doesn't appear to work. At least not for us. If, much like your actual editorial content, your advertising is subjected to qualification criteria (which from your posts appears not to be the case), can you at least drop us a message and let us know the specifics in this regard, or at least acknowledge/respond to our mails?

^^^. He tried for a comeback not long ago and then disappeared again into thin air. Cowardice much? Resorted to paying for censorship i guess, much easier

Would be interesting to know how much a backbone costs, I mean never once have I seen a Crystal Web ad and I doubt it's because they didn't try. However every day is a OpenWeb deception field day protected by the spineless mybb closed comments and closed forum discussion.

Crystal Web adverts currently run on YouTube, Facebook, ITWeb, and 2 other forms of media. As previously pointed out, we've tried to advertise on MyBroadband but they don't appear to want to allow it. An example of two of our in-stream video adverts currently running on YouTube and Facebook are https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1U9ztbQzRE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzTS4sQ3Aek
