I have very little guilt for anything in life.
What I do do however is try see thing through the lens of other people. Gillian Schutte provides a view that I don't normally see things though, which I appreciate

so I woke up to this the other day

I've never bothered checking who the statue is of, and I couldn't care less. I think its perverse though that the statue is erected on Church Square, a place where slaves were once auctioned off.
 
They've deleted it off their FB page but it was screen captured...

My god, how stupid are these people? They know they are under investigation for singing this and they go and publish it on Facebook...

Don't know, but in the case of Germany it is littered with street names of the like of Ilya Ehrenburg ("We shall kill. If you have not killed at least one German a day, you have wasted that day... Do not count days; do not count miles. Count only the number of Germans you have killed.") and monstrosities of soviet and communist monuments such as this one:

replete with images of the likes of Lenin and commemorating an ideology that killed far more people than Nazism did.

As far as I know there weren't many, however they do have statues of the dutch heroes during the golden ages, who were more or less on the same par as Cecil Rhodes.

There is also a statue of Napoleon in Belgium (which was then part of the Netherlands) he was just as bad as Hitler. The point is that Europe doesn't take statues down (unless you're the communist eastern part) they just tell the history, good or bad.

Not to the many idiots in Africa and all others that will conveniantly blame it on slavery and/or whatever excuse they can think of. It's always someone elses fault and never the fault of those that prefer to use their own personal complexes about history and the past as excuses for their own incompetance, struggles and failures normally self induced, those that believe the world owes them someting because they exist yet want to do nothing to uplift thenselve as they need free house, car, water, electricity, food, et al and a job for a good salary sitting on their asses all day so they cam afford a luxury car and a cell phone to chat all day as they are there just employed for the BEE show, nothing else. Even Zuma recently called those lazy people as they cannot motivate themselves to work without a boss.
