The Unofficial PC is better than console Thread

ROFLOL

It's like an AA meeting for the nerds of the Ham radio enthusiasts. ;)

Sorry okes, hug your PC's all you want but the games industry is moving to console, PC is being left with low budget niche titles, second hand ports, and the occasional tech demo, it's purely a matter of economics.

Aversion to the controller is purely a matter of noobaphobia: you suck and are too scared to admit it. Fear not, it's something that can be addressed by practise and the occassional teabagging. ;)

Most of you have used a mouse since before you could walk, and yet you claim to adequately compared a controller "because you tried Halo 3 once". Oh Please. While I will happily acknowledge there is little doubt a mouse is more pixel perfect accurate, A controller is far more ergonomic than trying to do digit gymnastics just to hit the crouch or reload button.

</flamebait Friday> ;)

Wake me when a game lets people using a console compete directly with those using a PC.

GTAIV isn't on PC cause they making it 10x better than console before they release it. :D

LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 1&2 and then also Command and Conquer 3. Supreme Commander, Civilization Revolution & Halo Wars.
All available on 360! :D

Supcom on Xbox360!? they then must have put restrictions on the ammount of unit's one is allowed to control cause even those Q6600's strugle sometimes :D

For those die-hard PC-only RTS fanbois:
Petroglyph's Creative Director Adam Isgreen is an RTS veteran, having worked on loads of Command & Conquers and, more recently, Universe at War. But he isn't worried that RTS titles making their way to consoles will in some way dilute the experience. In fact, he believes just the opposite:

...you could look at the transition of RTS from PC to console as "dumbing down" of the genre, but really that's completely inaccurate. The evolution of RTS from PC to console is all about re-discovering the core fun of the genre while stripping away the redundancy, over-complication, and bloat that has been attaching itself to RTS games over the years.

If anything, I'm glad that console is becoming dominant for gaming because it's going to force some evolution on a genre that has been fairly static for quite some time. We need to grow the RTS market and bring in new players, not isolate it further into eventual niche obscurity.

PC = King of FPS and Strategy Games
Consoles = Better for Fun Adventure/3rd person games (eg. Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Devil May Cry etc)

As for GTA IV, works just as well on both ;)
I do admit I prefer PC versions though

See, now, I might be wrong, buuuuut... Isn't the point of a strategy game to... *shrug* strategise? Somehow the three step way of playing a strategy game doesn't appeal to me:

1 - Build base
2 - Upgrade
3 - Rush

*yawn* Although, it's been a while since I've seen a really wow strategy game. Even the last Command & Conquer was a waste of money. Where's the choice? Where's the strategy? Build, Upgrade, Rush, Repeat.

Then of course we got Supreme Commander... Build, upgrade, defend, rush, repeat. Turtle-shell tactic ftw. And all over in what? Four Missions? Glee.

I'll admit - I'm not a head-over-heels fan of strategy, but I'm dying for one, really fantastic strategy game to come along again. Something... Homeworldy... Star Crafty... I'm looking forward to Spore :p I like depth and choice in a strategy game.

I am not a big fan of RTS either, I prefer my adventure, FPS and RPG's.
All I am trying to bring accross to the PC fanbois, there is another world out there.
Just because it does comes in a different box and without a keyboard/mouse does not mean it's inferior.
