ok so ive been with MTN since they launched. how many years is that now ? 15+ ? ive renewed my contract then how many times? my monthly bill is rarely under a grand... sometimes a hell of a lot more... even mtndatadude once said i was like a VIP customer or something....

so im up for contract renewal again... and ive been offered a handset upgrade ... again.

but now this time im just sick of it.... sick of signing these contracts and paying thousands and dealing with people saying... oh no sir on that phone you must pay in x amount... im sick of having to threaten to cancel my contract and migrate to the other network... ive got 5 contracts on the other network... doesnt mtn want me to migrate those to them rather... there is just no MTN drive to look after what theyve got...

valued customer ??? i dont think so??? give us your money??? yup

whats this all about really? dunno, probably just having a bad day...

kvi, I feel your pain. My farther applied for a Pro Data contract, and I applied for an Extended Data 500 Mb contract. It took 2 weeks for the vetting process to be completed, and only after I mailed MTN threatening to go to Vodacom.

So yes, they will gladly take our money, but do as little as possible for it. I, like probably so many others, have noticed that MTN "customer service" falls in the category: "I don't know how to help/ am not willing to help you, thus, I will call you later today/tomorrow/whenever (but, hehe, I will never do so!)"

Is this a "Proudly South Africa" thing?
 
and i dont want to move to another provider, coz its no different there.... i just dont even feel like resiging my contract.... what for??? seriously what for... i pay these guys like 30 grand during the contract and what do i get?? the privilege to make a phone call?

i have a similar problem with autopage... I am on a procall120 package, have been for about 10 years now just about ( or similar package..). My contract ends in 2 weeks time and no-one has even bothered to phone me and tell me my contract is ending, never mind offer me a deal to keep me with autopage....

When i went to a store, they said they would call me back first thing monday (went on Saturday) with an offer for the TytnII.... all they offered was 500 off the pay on account, on condition i took a procall 220 package..... WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad: That is defeating the point of a discount aint it??????

All these cell companies ave poor customer service and as was mentioned, once they have our signature and a constant debit order flowing into their bank account, they dont care anymore....
 
the right way would be for us NOT to go looking to resign ... let them come begging, then that way we have the upper hand, not them...

but i fear this is a losing battle :(
 
thats exactly what i tried... i waited and waited to see what autopage would do if i did not make an attempt to re-sign, but they did nothing.....

I can honestly say Autopage hasnt given me any trouble...

They are actually a bit annoying with the amount of sms that state Im due for an upgrade.
Im with Cell C though, Ill be moving to MTN when my contract expires on the 8th Jan.
Hopefully the porting goes smooth, dont feel like sitting without a phone number for weeks.
