The Vegan Thread

Nice news, certainly did not need to be in a vegan thread.

The final paragraph puts it quite nicely from a vegan perspective:

What next?

Change doesn't always come quickly. More than 60 billion cows, chickens, pigs and other animals are killed for their flesh every year around the world; animals of many different species are still being tortured and killed for their skin and fur; millions of animals are used in laboratory experiments; and there are still millions of captive animals languishing in zoos, aquaria and circuses. But as the above 10 victories demonstrate, times and attitudes are changing.

The final paragraph puts it quite nicely from a vegan perspective:

Aah I see. Yup that makes snese. I should let my family know they should stop torturing cows. Never knew about that until today :D

Im still trying to get over that "beautiful music" you shared... your 3rd share. The that sounded loud and scary on my speakers :D Liked your first two contributions, so had the speakers on loud ... and then I played that 3rd song. Omg. How you are not sacrificing cats to that is beyond me :D

I think we agree on many (if not all) of the examples in that article. We both agree, for example, that it's a Good Thing for bullfighting to be banned. Why? Because torturing bulls for fun is a Bad Thing; it's not necessary to do so. I just take that thinking to its logical conclusion. Eating meat for most of us not about survival or even good health, it's just because it tastes good and it's convenient. Tasting good and being convenient are no better reasons to subject and animal to suffering or death than the bullfighter killing a bull for fun. It's therefore logically inconsistent to denounce the bullfighter, while eating the cow.

Hehe. Did you make it to the breakdown part at around 5 mins? It's all the more beautiful in contrast to the violence of the preceding parts.

nonsense, don't be sorry, nothing like being proud to be a lover of eating living things, and trying to worm your way out of the responsibility of murdering other creatures to sustain yourself :p

lol! :D

At the end of the day, animals are my friends. I do not eat my friends.

Read the other day that it is essential for Vegans to take B12 supplements.

Then just yesterday my sister tells me that our mutual friend was at the doctor the other day to have something checked out and the doctor did a blood test also and came back saying she is very anemic. I immediately wondered if it could have anything to do with her going vegetarian on us a few months ago?
