The VW Up! Thread

I'm calling the rest of your argument invalid based on the fact that you don't know that the Ka is still in production.

He was talking about that model that was introduced in SA, and it didn't sell like hotcakes as you try to allude, so you argument was flawed. In fact it sold so badly they didn't bother introducing the follow up and only eventually brought the Figo in to fill that gap.

Anyway, you do know that you are then invalidating you own statement:

Yeah, I'll stick with the guys here lapping up that citi golf for as long as y'all did. Oh, and the Ford KA. Discontinued everywhere else in the world years before it arrived here and you lot bought it like it was hot.

Did you ever wonder why the five door up isn't being sold here? It's like PT Barnum never said, yeah?

So was it discontinued or is it still in production?

When you are done arguing with yourself, let us know.

Got a lift in one to the airport once. Had to sit in the back. Surprisingly bigger inside than it looks.

I dunno. That tailgate is all glass. What if it smashes?

Yup, your looking at a big mess and a pretty pricey repair. Glass is a big concern, we need to talk about it more. Much more.

Good point actually. I'm rather surprised VW stuck with the glass tailgate design...what with the inherit risk & all.

I'm possibly guessing that for Euro-markets; where this car is pretty much designed for; the risk factor of the glass tailgate is lower.

ie. Less extreme temperatures; Less long distance travel; More safer drivers with insurance etc.

I'm rather surprised that they didn't go with more glass in the construction. I mean, I'd like to see the engine while I'm driving, and maybe a glass floor like that boat in that song by The Beautiful South.
