The Walking Dead [SPOILERS]

And what amazes me, is that TTV are not longer than a year in this field of business. yet there are able to premier a Series like Walking Dead on their entry bouquet while MC would have shown this series on Mnet for R540.00 and note that this is not just any series, but it what everybody in the entire world is talking about. so really Big Up TTV, and this is just the tip of an Iceberg..believing more will come eventually

If you have DSTV HD and TTV you will see for yourself it is near HD some of the channels on TTV look better than a DVD
ever since MC added more than 1 HD channel the quality of the HD has decreased.

I can also agree with your statement. HD uses MPEG 4 which is the same codec TTV is using http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadcasting/13036-Smart-technology-for-TopTV.html and dstv standard channel uses MPEG 2. so if take a look at Top Movies, Junior, and Explore you will note that the picture qualityis so much more clearer than Dstv standard channel, and more close to MNET HD Channel, cause i two had HD PVR and i see the similarity

I see... well I don't have Dstv HD or TTV so was under the assumption that TTV's quality is technically the same as Dstv's SD. So theoretically, the more HD channels Dstv add, the more degraded the quality of the HD channels become?

Interesting... I always wondered by Dstv SD looked so k@k on an HD tv. They should spend less money advertising their re-runs and upgrade their network to supply better quality. If TTV would slap on some sport channels (specifically live football i.e. EPL) and still be cheaper than Dstv, I would sign up immediately.
 
U guys should read the comics, been reading them for over 3 years now, its crazy..........in a good way. It really is no holds barred, i have never read something so unpredictable in my life.

This season of the show though has only six episodes:cry:

Normal with American series, they will sign a pickup deal if it proves popular.

DSTV has bandwidth problems so the more HD channels they have the more they steal from other channels
 
EPISODE 2

oh my goodness! The tension when they walked through the walkers covered in guts with just inches from being killed. Now that is something that I have never seen in any other "zombie" show (not even in any movie). Simple but effective use of the walkers ;)

I hope every episode has something so unexpectedly cool and at the same time so sad. The poor walker was once a human too with a family etc. Glad the series is not only about killing them as their humanity still lingers in the survivors sense of right and wrong.

Looking forward to episode 3!
 
Episode was brilliant. The build up to future events are exciting. The chap who was left behind on the rooftop is definitely going to come back for them and when the dude finds his wife messing around on him - fireworks. This series harks of resident evil a bit ... and theres none better than RE!
 
Hmm seen the first two episode.. I'm sure it only gets better :) really a quality show!! I'm surprised toptv has it!! wow nice one guys!

Actually there was one. Was ok. Can't remember what it was called but it started off with contestants in a Big Brother house in the UK, they could not understand why Big Brother was no longer watching them and giving them food and what not :) until they escape to find all the horrors waiting outside.

Yes while I believe the series is so new they haven't even finished making all the first season episodes yet (word of mouth rumour though) I could have easily watched episode 2 on the net before it screened on topTV, but I watched it on topTV rather :)

Not sure if I should advertise website names tho :/ still don't know if those are legal but can assume probably not. They do generate revenue from advertisements prior to streaming the video but do they get the rights to broadcast the content? I really doubt it :erm:

Ja, DSTV picture quality is crap due to all the compression used. Just compare a normal SABC channel to the DSTV version and you will see the old analog terrestial picture is much better than the one on dstv.

thats actually a very interesting start, the walking dead just seemed to copy 28 days later. but im not complaining
