It would've been interesting if they had actually explored the mechanisms behind it and worked towards a cure and salvation...

TWD's entire premise is they're ****ed, which is why I don't give a toss when anyone pegs it. Build up hope(redneck scientist was a poor attempt at this) then dash it and when things seem most dire offer a saving hand. That's how good TV works.

I think about it overtime there is someone stabbed, slashed or decapitated. There must be some blood spatter going into their mouths or cuts.

Remember when Rick met Glenn at the shopping center in Atlanta, they devised a plan to cover themselves in zombie guts. Before starting all the surgical work they covered themselves with safety equipment. Obviously for the blood spatter. That was the only time in the series that they do that.

It annoys me how details like that never occur again.

I thought everyone was already infected & only death brought about the change :confused:. Zombie blood on your face doesn't really change anything.

You should follow the series more closely... where they explain how everyone is infected and you only turn when you die.

They realised this at the end of season 2 (or season 1 part 2)

Question...Why does one turn when you get bit then? I follow it quite closely, people turn when bit.

But, a bite means you turn into a walker. End of. Yet if you bit me I more than likely wouldn't die. So surely it's the infection that carries the death sentence and not the actual bite itself.

And of course, a bite on the wrist can be stopped by a quick amputation, i.e. stop the infection spreading to the heart?

Because a bite usually involves arteries and veins ripped to ****. The physical trauma kills them - the already-there virus turns them. And people have been amputated. The old man was saved like that if I remember correctly.

Stop watching whilst whatsapping :p.

I think if you were not following the season when it aired you might have missed it. There was a lot of talk at the time of the reveal so that's how most people know.... Also I think because of the comics.

All that was actually said was 'we are all infected'

I've never read the comic - but I was quite sure that in the eps leading up to Rick killing Shane they made quite a point of how things worked.
 
I haven't missed anything from the show. Rick spills the truth at the end of the most boring season ever...season 2. I've also never seen any of the characters survive when bit.

To be fair to the theory that they die of normal infection, how long can one survive after being bit by a human. Let's say a homeless man bites you (His mouth must be as dirty as a walkers mouth). In the show it takes about a day or two(48 hours)?

Any doctors in the house?

Or are zombies smart enough to target major arteries?

Well I've read the comics and watched the episodes and I've yet to see where a bite does not = death.

Ag, but maybe I'm just dof :D

Not true. One early important character turned while he was living and not bitten.
