First thing I noticed wrong with that wall of steel. The braces are on the OUTSIDE ? WTF? NO engineer will ever build it like that. It is completely illogical. You brace opposite the force that is or may be pushing against the wall.

Braces outside also make it easier to climb the walls.

Nope, steel beams. http://zombieapocalypse.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/alex4.jpg

Good attempt at being smart though.

Great picture to support my complaint re. those beams being on the OUTSIDE.

Also when did they have time to build these walls? Doing most of the work on the outside where they would be most vulnerable to walkers. Extremely unlikely scenario....just like a Zombie apocalypse. ;)

Plot holes sure, but, the quarry stopped most of the walkers to getting to Alexandria. I'm guessing that helped them to build up such a huge enclosure. And there weren't a lot of people in the town so I expect a lot have perished building that wall.

And Rick's girlfriend's son wants to take out that girlfriend-stealing hobo i.e. Carl :p.

Probably correct re. the quarry, but I must disagree re. the highlighted part. This community claims to not have been exposed to all the horrors etc., that our band of happy travellers have been. So I doubt they were in the wars and picked off during the build. I think that woman who's in charge ( her husband was the engineer that built the wall) mentioned they built it right at the beginning before the shizzle really hit the fan.

Still does not explain the stupid and illogical engineering.

Doubt he is going to get that right

Brainless idiot with a gun? Very plausible. If I tried listening to Rick teach me about guns and some snotnose, egotistic pothead(not smoker, head just looks like a pot) keeps interrupting I would have wanted to kill him too. For a split second you can see Rick looking at Carl thinking (STFU you noob!)

:D:D Yes, I would be really p*ssed off if i was interrupted like that the whole time. Carl is trying to show off and it isn't the right time!

Deanna's husband was an architect...probably explains the poor engineering. Or it wasn't critical to the story and the set designers didn't give a toss...a building causes the collapse in the end, not the wall design.

...Mr Architect could have drawn the boundary of the wall to include the building with the ready-made watchtower but guess no-one argued with the architecture department during the zombie apocalypse.

Would the wall have come down if the supports were on the other side though? A wooden structure vs a steel one. Any engineers in the house?

My bad...

The wall was built right at the start so if they had enough time to build that wall, surely they had enough time to rethink those braces.

Pretty sure it would have given way at the mounting points between the supports and the steel panels. House had quite a bit of momentum by the time it contacts the fence.

Don't have the video here to see if they showed a reverse angle (from outside the walls).

If that tower was so damaged and weak that it just fell over, it would have damaged the wall, but it would not have caused it to collapse. It was made of wood and half burnt and I must say that wall does look sturdy, despite the design flaws.

IMHO that tower would have been chopped in half by the steel wall like a knife.

Not picking a fight here but: the tower was very close to the fence and it fell over quite slowly. So I doubt that it had a lot of momentum.

Also: did anyone get the feeling that there was sabotage going on with that tower? Some very fresh looking cuts in the wall and the way those boards etc. very shown "falling" off the structure? Maybe some W inscribed fuknuts back for more?

Nah, the truck that the wolf pack tried to crash in to the wall cracked the tower.

Thats what I thought.

My prediction for next week. Daryl, Abraham and other cray cray chick I don't care about (Are all females synced on this show? Red ambulance all month round) will arive. They have a truck filled with fuel (think thats a tanker type vehicle). Blow the hooter, spray some zombos and everyone will sit around the massive bonfire singing. Cray cray 12 year old will screw something up and cant fight for shyte blondie will try and kill pothead.
