I am working on my own projects. I am not a programmer but I also don't care for social media, GitHub or any of this ****. Options like Discord exist and file sharing with Google drive is easy enough that a noob like me can use it. YouTube has a bunch tutorials on just about anything. It is a good way to get answers. I also have a second Discord account that I use to join YouTube communities and normally I can ask questions get answers and not share my political view and avoid any other form of stupidity.Playing in only 1 camp will hurt you professionally. You need to be able to play in all of them
Over a career ( and personal interests ) , I have been in microsoft ( in all variants from Dos 1.1) / OS2 / CP/M / Solaris / AIX / HPUX / Linux ( Tons of distro's ) / Novell / BSD and who knows how many black box solutions
There is good and bad for each one and that is what people need to recognise.
