Hi Guys & Dolls

We now speak with action !

1. Throw away your Virgin mobile sim.

2. Buy a Vodacom Starter pack

3. Buy a MTN Starter pack

4. Purchase R200 Vodacom airtime from Pick n Pay

5. Purchase R10 MTN airtime as well.

6. Load each airtime onto the sims.

7. Purchase a 500meg bundle from Vodacom for R189

8. Keep the MTN sim handy just in case you run out of megs quickly purchase R70 of MTN airtime and load 100megs for R80 ( Remember you already purchased R10 MTN airtime before )

9. Carry on from month to month in this fashion.

10. Should you be a heavy data user then purchase 2 x 500megs for R378 load at once.

11. Send and e-mail to Vodacom requesting 3G/HSDPA coverage in your area.
( They are listening to you - you should have coverage in 3/4 months )

Donot complain this will put so much pressure on the other guys that we will see record lowering of prices.

We now speak with action and don't ask for anything from the networks anymore.

Explained

Hi guys,

For internaut :

As most data and internet users don't want to be attached to any network for 24 months or more. Anyway we need broadband when we need it. So I suggested we invest in the R189 option on Vodacom. This is mainly for dial-up and e-mail users and business people on the move. At the begining of a month we are not sure how much data we are gonna use. So we start with the 500meg from Vodacom and continue for the month. However some people may find that the 500megs are up before half the month can be completed. They then purchase another 500megs for the rest of the month. It might be expensive GIG wise but at least we know we paying for what we using rather than lose 1Gig when the 30 day period is up. ( there is no data carryover from either MTN or Vodacom ) The 100megs from Mtn is just to get you through the month if you around the 20th and your data is up but also remember that you have 30 days from the day of loading. So its the affordable WAY 2 GO. Most people would rather opt for the 2Gig bundle but find themselves not using the full 2Gigs up before the month ends. So we have a loss of R190. As each month will bring forth new data usage. It is difficult to predict how much one would use. From the feedback it appears that a few forumites are heavy data users. This thread was for the new guys joining mobile broadband and I would not like them to be locked into 24 month contracts. Cos lets say another operator offers better prices we must be able to switch overnight. The networks are still not offering a good stable service with regards to speed and mobility as yet. Well Imust admit there was some ambiguity from my side which will be corrected.

thanks
