The weight loss thread

Excited.
I've been using a meal box delivery service but their meals are very traditional carb heavy meals which has been my downfall.
Found a sister company today that specialises in niche diets (eg vegetarian, low carb or keto) so switched to that for next week.....

So no progress since this post, weighed in at 90.9 at the doc this morning. She at least said its ok since Im about 1 KG down from May. I aim to be in the 80's in December.

Side topic, do you guys weigh before and after.. erm ... nature calls? Im pretty chuffed with the 500g pee I had this morning.

I tend to weigh everyone morning after a wee.

Speaking off. I broke through 90. Currently 89.9

Heard the meat size is pretty small. Send some pics. Which company is it?

Greenchef. It's the same company as hellofresh, different branding. No idea why they do that but whatever.

Luckily with the wegovy I can get by with smaller meals, and can always supplement with a piece of chicken or something.

So memory is a tad bit hazzy.

But I recall I was 99.x in April.

Currently sitting at 89.7. So lost about 10 kgs.

My next goal is 86. (My weight post covid+baby)

Then 82. (My weight after my very first weight loss journey in 2015 which I maintained till Covid)

I always weigh after nature calls are done. Just to maintain consistency, I weigh it at approximately same time in morning, 6.45am.

I would strongly suggest going low carb if dieting is difficult for you, and here is why:
When we eat, our bodies can use two main types of fuel for energy: carbohydrates (sugars) and fats. Most people who eat a typical diet get a lot of energy from carbohydrates, which are found in foods like bread, rice, pasta, and sweets. When we eat these carbs, our bodies quickly turn them into sugar in the blood, and the hormone insulin helps store any extra sugar for later use. This process can lead to energy highs and lows, causing hunger soon after eating and making it hard to resist snacking.

However, on a low-carb diet, things work a bit differently. By eating fewer carbs, our bodies don’t have as much sugar available, so they learn to rely on fat for energy. This process is called being "fat-adapted." Once fat adaptation occurs, the body gets very good at burning fat for fuel, both from the food we eat and from our stored fat. As a result, energy levels are more stable, and we don’t feel the same strong cravings or hunger that happen when blood sugar drops.

Being fat-adapted also means that we can comfortably go longer without food, which can make dieting easier. Instead of feeling tired and hungry between meals, many people find they have steady energy and feel satisfied for longer. This change can make it much simpler to manage weight and stick to healthier eating habits, as the body isn't constantly demanding more food to keep energy levels up.

I typically consume only one meal a day, and hunger rarely bothers me. This is largely due to my body being fully adapted to using fat for energy.

And we're back. It's been a rough 5 months hovering between 113 and 115, but sorting the food has fixed that.

Will be checking in Thursday mornings going forward as Thursday evening is our takeaways night so Friday morning may not be a good thing

Trying Intermittent fasting this week for quick short term results. I know it is not sustainable but need to kick myself a bit. I am confident I will maintain the dropped weight (if it does) later on.

IF is perfectly sustainable if you do it at sane levels, like 8/16

More like 9/15 for me. :p

But, what I am also trying to do is to exercise between 7-8pm. That worked well for first 3 months of this year and I shouldn't have dropped it.

Again, not sustainable in long run but I want to get under 80kg so desperate times.

imho that's too late to exercise. Don't you struggle to sleep if you exercise so late?

Meal sizes have been fine for us (but my wife really doesn't eat that much).

Nah - don't struggle due to exercise that late. Sleep is an issue only if I listen to YT before sleep.

That is realistically the only time I don't get disturbed. It is always something or the other if I start exercise at 5pm. Most of the days I won't be able to anyways due to son's extramural activities in the evening till 5.30/6pm. Are you married and/or have a kid ?

Haha OK I get it.

Married but the kids have all moved out long ago

Just curious, what time do you eat dinner?

Been avoiding proper dinner for couple of months but not always successful. Lunch is at around 12/1pm and then I eat some leftover food close to 5pm and then call it a day.

If at all I have some late craving, then I try to stifle it by having some sort of liquid (flavored buttermilk/milk/tea) etc although I have cheated at times and munched on some salted cashews/peanuts/chips close to 9pm.
