The weight loss thread

I lost about 25 kg around ten years ago and haven’t regained it since. For me, the real turning point was becoming fat-adapted. Once your metabolism shifts to using fat as a primary fuel source, hunger stabilises, cravings disappear, and maintaining weight stops feeling like a constant fight. From there it becomes a lifestyle rather than a temporary diet, and the weight stays off without white-knuckling it.
Ok cool, but still. The vast majority of people rebound after a diet.

No way you are doing that in 90 days; muscle and jackeness isn't something you just order like cheeseburgers, well at least those that mean anything other than looking pumped.
Actually, in this case very possible in 90 days. Look at his before pic, he looks like a seasoned bodybuilder who has just finished a bulk, typical Bodybuilding cut is 90-120 days to get extremely ripped pre stage show. For the average overweight person, 90 days is nowhere near enough time to get ripped like that. Also what they dont tell you is how mentally exhausting it is to drop below 8-10% BF, watched a few documentaries and as the BF % drops low, you develop severe brain fog and mental drain, thats what messes up alot of bodybuilders, yes the drugs are bad but mental challenge of being that low BF is extreme in some cases.

Willpower to change?
Most people are like my mom, looking for a quick fix (fad in other words), telling themselves that they do not have the ability/willpower to affect change in their own behaviour.
And companies are playing to that to line their own pockets.
Sure there are edge cases (either side), but for 80% of the population the above guidance is good enough

This thread seems to have become a 'look at how I beat the system/casino/life' with a simple injection/hack

Go speak to a dietian / nutritionist, and it will come back to how much nutrients/macros you need based on weight. Those I mentioned above are the general gist of that. but yeah, keyboard warrior me! Let's compare body weight scale readings and talk again :)

You're one of those, neh ;)

It's not as simple as willpower.

Was going to say this. Besides sticking his stomach out, he has the same muscle in both pics - he has just gone on a diet to get ripped after putting on the muscle.. A lot of body builders do this.

100%, this is a cycle of bulking and cutting, normal process.

I have not watched the whole video but I am assuming retatrutide and testosterone.

I didnt watch this one, i have watched others, but man does it look miserable to get down to that level, natural or not i would not get that lean, really messes with your mental and emotional well being.

So do you guys train for:

  • General health
  • General weight loss
  • Body building
  • Get ripped
  • Functional strength

Asking because perception is most people do mass accepted gym routine as is and it's unclear if they actually thought about what outcomes they are looking for with what they have.

Also body building or just looking good seems to exclude general wellbeing and translatable functional strength. I guess another question would be... why do you do the program you do and what does it do for you; how can you trust it?

For myself I've changed from "the gym routine" into rather focusing on consistency and functional strength which obviously isn't always the most interesting and flamboyant workouts. lol.

As you get older, it's the core strength you want to maintain and build up. So function over form.

Me personally as you would have seen my journey over the years is general health, general weightloss -> now pure maintenance, functional strength, getting ripped (BUT VERY SLOW and STEADY as a by product of the above). I now do 2x10km pram runs so I need to be stronger and lots of extra weight etc does not help with that.

Visiting this thread every now and then is always nice.

For 2026, I want to try get my weight to around 75kg... I am currently weighing in at 82.4kg. What is interesting is, since moving to Canada, my weight has been falling, hahaha. Came in at 91kg. This is probably from regular 5km jogs and maybe eating slightly better.

Serena Williams injects herself with a GLP-1 weight loss drug as millions watch the Super Bowl.

She dances and shows off how “convenient” it is to get GLP-1s using the Ro app.

She even says you can get them in pill form.

I miss the days when the Super Bowl sold beer & trucks.

Pushing Big Pharma weight loss injections while impressionable children watch feels wrong.

Who's in the mood for a 4 month diet?

Sign up here starting Monday 23rd.

You need to post your weight each Monday.

In my case I am targeting 12kg. Been there and done that and know cutting out alcohol, snacks, and junk causes weight loss quite rapidly...

Anyone else?
