The Witcher 3 Official thread

It's already been briefly available for $15.

Where?! When?!

Oh Jesus that sucks. I would have bought the game on Steam if I realised.

The age of a service doesn't determine its reliability. I bought Rayman Origins and some other game on Gamersgate not too long ago and they were direct downloads. Never supporting them again. I want my games in the same place. It's bad enough having to deal with Origin, Uplay, Battlenet etc. as it is.

+14343.

Witcher 3 is already available for around $34.

GoG version? No thanks.

Where do you see them being Steam versions?

1st link...

It does't have the little Steam icon next to the game like other Steam releases on there have.

2nd link...

"Our keys for The Witcher 3 can only be activated on the Geforce website. After the activation, the game can be downloaded from the website gog.com."

I got those sites from another site that linked them as Steam versions.

Ironically enough, the legitimacy of sites like G2A are also strongly called into question.

Brokered keys are at times in question, and that is why they have buyer's protection programs. The keys they trade are in agreement with digital distribution entities which is legit. It is the third-party sellers utilising their gateway which may be scamming people, the buyer can also make the mistake to ignore limitations (e.g. regional) on a legitimate brokered purchase.

You will also like all your TV programming on DSTV?

I have games on Uplay, Origin, Rockstar social Club, Gamersgate and Steam, it is far easier to have them all hosted by Steam than to use all the other services.

GTA V is not a major issue but it's just the fact that I have to use Rockstar social club when Steam works 100%.

Isn't it possible to add non Steam games to your library and play them from there? Or does this not apply to games that are 'hosted' in other game portals (like Origin or U-Play)?

Yes, you can add non-Steam games, but the games still need to conduct a handshake to pass the DRM. This will mean that they will need to launch through their respective launchers.

Sure you can add them to Steam but in most cases it's not the same as your normal Steam integration.
I have GTA V listed as a game on Steam but within steam it says it is a non steam game.
You still need to launch the RSC before playing.

It's technical pedantic nonsense really but I do prefer Steam to all of the services.

This is probably the best deal for The Witcher 3 atm for those interested:

https://www.g2a.com/wildhuntwithpaypal

R403 for the standard edition and R659 for the enhanced edition with the expansion pass (GOG codes). The latter option is a great deal, as the two DLC's included are massive.

How I wish I didn't preorder from Takealot now. If I'm going to have to deal with GOG I'd at least like to be able to predownload the game. Maybe I'll try change the Takealot preorder to F1 2015 instead.

Just cancel and buy it from wherever else. It's what I did with GTA V when I learnt the physical copies can't be activated on Steam.

Check again.
The Paypal offer is for the Standard edition with all 16 DLC.
The Enhanced edition includes the season pass.

I linked that earlier actually.

It's the best deal by a long way if you include the DLC.
